So-won (2013)
My only 10/10 ever
It is an absolute injustice to this film that it hasn't gained any traction in the western world. As other reviewers have said, the way in which it handles the horrific subject matter is simply masterful. The cast are outstanding (particularly the three at the centre of the story) and every emotion feels so genuine.
You could eulogise about this film for hours but no words could do it justice. To the average moviegoer the triggering subject matter may sadly turn them away, but it's an absolute must watch for any cinephie.
The Handmaid's Tale: Heroic (2019)
If you thought this episode was boring, maybe this isn't the show for you
Don't listen to those saying this episode dragged. For a true fan of this show it's a fantastic insight into how the Gilead dystopia has took its toll mentally June, conveyed via some very well-written and well-acted scenes and some delightful symbolism.
If you're watching this show for the "action", then skip this episode, as you might be disappointed at the lack of loud noises or hangings. But for a true fan, take your time, allow that white box room to evelop you, and enjoy this welcome change of pace.
The Mole: Undercover in North Korea (2020)
If there was no video footage, no one would believe it happened
It's just that crazy. If this was the plot to a film you'd probably have critics saying the plot was too far-fetched for the film to be enjoyable.
The happenings uncovered by these two fearless Danish men are- quite literally at times- unbelievable, and it's that precisely that makes this such an enthralling and jaw-dropping watch.
Truly seismic and really hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
