The Rise of Jordan Peterson (2019)
Jordan Peterson Fails The Moment
This film has the pretense of not presenting an opinion on its subject. But by doing so requires the viewer to judge the film based on what's presented. And what is presented is disturbing. Jordan states that he wants to stay out of politics, but then goes on to fully embrace the right wing, and to refrain from criticizing the most authoritarian western leader in modern history. An intelligent man who has obviously sold out because he apparently does attention more than his principles. This is very disappointing because he has interesting and thoughtful insights regarding society, psychology and sociology. He could rise to the moment but instead has failed epically and apparently for the worst motivations. Given his intelligence and his gifts this is very disappointing . And apparently just to satisfy his own ego.
BlacKkKlansman (2018)
Timely, hilarious, and true.
Thank you Spike Lee for another amazing film. This one balances lightness with a heavy topic in a way that makes the story breathe. It's enjoyable to watch, improbable and probable at the same time, while also somehow touching our humanity deep down.
