The King of Staten Island (2020)
I can relate
Losing a parent, dealing with the new partner of your parent, having bpd, messed up digestion, depression, being suicidal, not knowing who you are or what to do in life. Wow this hits very very close to home for me.
Pete is such an amazing actor! I love it when comedians do a drama movie/series. They are often great actors and can really shine in something serious. There is still a lot of comedy in the film and I actually laughed really loud a couple of times, it was so funny. It could have gotten a bit darker at some point for me personally, because I know what it is like but I understand the decision to keep it more light and funny and not feature the suicide or cutting aspect so much.
Such a great movie, I wanna watch it again now.
P. S.: great presentation of the medical/healthcare system in the US. It is just insane to me, that you would have to wait in the waiting room after being stabbed.
Rumspringa (2022)
Gay tension but ended up being Queerbaiting
This movie was a freaking joke. I still give it 7/10 because of the cute moments between Alf and Jacob. But I mean come on I can't be the only one to see the build up of a gay romance here. The way they looked at each other, Jesus. The way they were dressed. The haircut. And no chemistry with their female partners. The scene in the bathroom, the drug scene, even if it would have been just the ending scene, but no, he kissed him on the cheeks and they added another scene with the woman. I just can't believe it.
And the weird climax with the funeral and the weird clothes and emo make up suddenly was just a strange conclusion. For me it felt like someone wanted to make an lgbtq film and 2/3rds into the movie a different director took over and made a completely different movie.
Could have been the sweetest romance ever but turned into a shallow German cliche. Just sad and yes I am mad 😭
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
The best movie I have seen this year!
Honestly, I do not understand why people hate on this film so much. It is the best Star Wars movie in my opinion and even the best film I have seen this year.
I cried a lot and laughed and was excited the whole damn time! A masterpiece!
