My Son Hunter (2022)
A strange satire
This movie while oddly well made in some respects ultimately completely fails at its intended purpose. I went to find some good burn's and memes against the Biden family but it just kind of made both Joe and Hunter look far cooler than they are.
The premise was to make them look horrible but all I can say is that I now have more respect for the both of them, Hunter comes off like an epic playboy and Joe comes off as a great father that is concerned about his son.
It can never be called a documentary because not only does it not have criminal evidence against Hunter it does not even try to explain what was on the laptop or why it should be incriminating, just very odd implications. But yeah it looks pretty good and was made with skill but kinda wrecked the purpose it was trying for.
Helluva Boss (2019)
Oddly heartfelt dark comedy
The cast is a very strange mix of completely detached even psychotic group of assassins that somehow home off as a wholesome family. They appear not to care about anything or for anyone but there is none the less interactions of love and friendship even if the relationships are often toxic. It ends up as a reflection of how many people live through their life when dealt a bad hand yet clearly have a good life.
Sometimes you family sucks, often your friends do, frequently your coworkers will and it is all addressed here in a manner that is bight an light hearted despite the dark tone of the series.
Saving Christmas (2014)
Insulting to Christianity.
I am an atheist and am far from a fan of Christianity but this film appears to want to emphasize why. It makes the faith out to be a horrific ideology of cule despots who despise the poor. According to this, it is some holy reverence to buy the finest silver and linens rather than give any money to the poor. It frames Kirk as a hero for being Christ and making Christmas as selfish and greedy as possible. I mean I got to watch this on October 20th as a Christmas movie and I think that says a lot, this movie is so unlike Christmas it has to come before Halloween so you can forget about it by October 25th.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Way better than I expected
I was told that this was the worst movie ever made and how absolutely horrible it was. Why?it is fine, not awesome nor gut busting helarious but not bad at all. It may take a beer or two but it is funny and even feels like a Ghostbusters movie despite several missed opportunities. It was a fun movie
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
A list
Here is a list of things this film got wrong. Nothing, supremely well shot, the whole movie is beautiful, the story is cool, it is well acted. It is great and good and awesome!
C Me Dance (2009)
What did I just watch.
So... apparently this is a Christian film. Granted I watched drunk a friend had me watch it and then asked two questions, one was this a Christian film, and two was it a bootleg. And I have to say I would answer I suppose Muslim as it presents faith as good but Christianity as depressing and yes the editing is horrific, the cuts are utterly nonsensical it feels like 3 films smashed into one. Sadly I knew the answer was yes and no which is why he posed the question, but seriously the two main protagonists in the film suffer horribly and only convert people through magic which is never explained or even attempted to be explained. The antagonist in this film literally do nothing they take no action that affects the plot even remotely and yet the ending is still this sober confused jagged mess. I don't even know if it was intended to be happy, sad or bittersweet and thus is not any of them it is just a melange of wondering where any of the charter arch went to along with the story and any semblance of meaning whatsoever.
Persecuted (2014)
What did I just watch?
So full disclosure I am an atheist who went to see this to know how Christians perceive that they are being persecuted in America or are being persecuted in other nations, I got nothing of the sort. So what did I get? I don't know.
So our protagonist is a Christian presumably Catholic as you find rather late in the film living in what I can only assume is an alternate history America wherein the only difference is that this bill attacking his faith would not be utterly unconstitutional, said bill would attack his faith by mandating all religions give all other religions speaking time at their place of worship. If you are even passingly familiar with US law you will note this is highly illegal and even if it wasn't it appears 90% of America is Christian in this film and this would also attack other religions in the same way so they would not pass it nor would I as an atheist, I can think of literally no one who would approve of this bill at all. So he oppose this as anyone wold but in this world he is presumably the only one and thus is framed by the entire government from the Police to the Secret Service for murder, a murder that even our protagonist questions if he actually committed. Then in a very broken story he gets acquitted and gives a speech at the White House who never actually stopped pushing this bill but still let him talk because... well the film never says. So what about this speech? Not in the movie, it just cuts to black.
Pros? Well i did not feel like I was being preached to... so that is good. On that note it also feels like this is not even a pro Christian film, just a bad action film and for some reason the factions are Christian guy V Government that is insane.
Cons? I hated all of the protagonists and antagonist in this film alike, this film has no message, to many plot holes to count, and even by the standards of Star Wars this film is utterly unrealistic.
