Angry Planet (2007)
Empty Quarter: Arabia
Saw this program on the guide, and what this particular episode was supposed to show make me want to watch. Most of what I watch focuses on the history of planet Earth - the universe and how it affects our planet, past and present; how our planets' history causes problems with all forms of life; and even things as mundane as the history of humanity.
According to the information about this particular episode, I thought I would be watching a program about underground lakes, a burning crater of natural gas, and dinosaur remnants. What I saw was the host showcasing a variety of things a person could do if they visited Abu Dahbi - for the first half. For the second half I watched as the host learned how to drive over sand dunes. Yeah - was so let down. Haven't decided if I'm going to give the program another chance.
The Listener (2009)
I miss Peter Stebbings
When the series first came out I was actually looking forward to it. While I don't believe it's possible for someone to read other people's minds, in and of itself I deemed it irrelevant and watched for the sheer entertainment value of it. Before the end of the season I was completely hooked, and was excited at the prospect of it being picked up for more seasons. But I waited a very long time because it was canceled from the one network - but finally got picked up by another - yay! I however, didn't find out about this until it had been back for a couple seasons so I had some ground to make up. Didn't bother me - I enjoyed the pursuit of catching up. I have missed some episodes tho - dunno when the one guy was replaced by Peter Stebbings, but I enjoyed the program even more. To say I was disappointed when he was taken off and the other guy put back in - that's putting it mildly. I haven't seen it since. I have recorded a couple since in hopes they brought him back, but deleted when I saw that other guy still there.
The Librarians (2014)
Love The Librarian movies...
When watching shows and movies I am good at suspending belief, and watch for entertainment. I loved The Librarian movies and was so looking forward to the series. Was very glad they brought back Noah Wiley - wouldn't have been the same without him. And while I miss him as Eliot, I was happy to see Christian Kane. With this tho, I did have 1 problem - Rebecca Romijn. Frankly I'm tired of seeing her. While she was good as a blue mutant, I have yet to see her in a role as a real person that I think she's good at. I'll continue watching The Librarians because I like some of the characters as well as the entertainment factor, however, I do hope that should it be picked up for a second season, there will be a slight cast change. To an extent I should feel bad for my comment about Ms. Romijn, but I can't help feeling the way I do and seriously hope the second season will be minus her.
