777 Charlie (2022)
A terrific love story of a man and a dog !
They say some love stories live on forever....well, this one's gonna stay in my heart & mind for a long, long time !
One of the finest movies I've watched in recent times, 777 Charlie has so much warmth, heart & soul that it's bound to make you feel every beat of it's wonderful journey !
If you're a dog lover, you can't afford to miss this, if you're not a dog lover, then you should definitely watch this to understand the true meaning of this pure, evergreen bond.
Excellent direction, crisp editing, beautiful cinematography & a plethora of emotions, man they don't make such movies very often !
Rakshit Shetty has delivered an extraordinary performance here !
Yup, it's not just a movie, it's an EMOTION !
P. S - Keep your tissues/handkerchiefs with you... & don't miss the super sweet post-credit(mid-credit) scene !
#MustWatch.
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)
A below-average remake of a Hollywood classic !
Excruciatingly long, almost unbearably boring and just no connect with the audience - that was pretty much Laal Singh Chaddha for me !
Extremely poor direction & very average editing, I was simply irritated with such lengthy, never-ending scenes, not to mention, with just no connect whatsoever with the characters, it all ended up being bland & boring, with hardly any emotions left to be felt.
The acting was just okayish, however, Aamir Khan was all over the place, I mean you don't need to make absurd facial expressions to show low IQ in a person. Didn't expect this from him.
There were surely some questionable story changes made to that of the original, with somewhat unnecessary controversial aspects which could've been avoided, but I won't get into that cause creative liberty should be respected.
The overall music was nice & that's about it.
After a long time, I watched a movie where I was thinking of even leaving the hall every now & then cause of the tiring, everlasting screenplay.
Yes, I felt my money was wasted here and I simply request people to avoid this movie.
Keeping all controversies on one side, this movie doesn't deserve to do well at the box office (& will definitely not) cause it's NOT AT ALL a well made movie.
And yes, I haven't compared this movie with Forrest Gump at all cause first it should reach a level where a comparison can actually be made.
Darlings (2022)
A very wrong message being portrayed on such a delicate issue like domestic violence
One of the most disturbing movies I've watched till date, I literally had to mute certain scenes cause they were so disturbing.
One of the most disturbing movies I've watched till date, I literally had to mute certain scenes cause they were so disturbing.
I, personally, have a big problem with the overall concept of this movie. The message it sends out is ridiculous and the basic idea behind the script seems so absurd and so wrong, I mean it genuinely angers me to see such a bizarre storyline being approved for a movie.
Yes, Alia Bhatt was terrific but Shefali Shah truly stole the show, those eyes & the fantastic expressions, amazing stuff.
I liked the ending of the movie but only when I consider the whole movie as a fantasy, which in itself is a shame as it's dealing with a very important topic, that requires the correct message to be sent to the public.
I really don't have any words to describe this freak show, it was simply the spectacular acting of Alia and Shefali Shah that kept me engaged.
Other than that, I'm terribly annoyed with the story-writer of this movie, I mean you really can't justify Kabir Singh's slap by saying that the girl slapped him back too, right ? And god, this movie does exactly that, give me a break !
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The Best Tribute there ever could be for Spiderman fans !
THE BEST SPIDERMAN MOVIE TILL DATE !!
Again Marvel leaves me speechless !!
Won't say much here, just these words -
Goosebumps, Crazy cheering, Genuine laughs, Teary eyes, Nostalgia & Enormous clapping !!
Yes, an experience I won't forget any time soon !
Still trying to come to terms with the fact that literally whatever I wanted this movie to have.... was there & in fact it was way more than my expectations !!
A blockbuster, entertainer !!
Please JUST DON'T MISS THIS SPECTACLE !
You just can't afford to !
IT'S A MUST WATCH !! 💯💯💯
And thank you soooooo much Marvel Studios for bringing back childhood memories & making me feel like a 10-year old kid yet again ! THANK YOU !!

Bandish Bandits (2020)
An Amalgamation of melodious music & pure emotions that works wonders !
A web series that makes me feel proud of our very own Indian classical music,a web series that will touch your soul instantly & make you drool over it's mind-blowing music,a web series that India deserved long back !
Bandish Bandits has a simple storyline, certain cliché scenarios and moments & a somewhat predictable plot yet with all it's surprise revelations from time to time & the charming background score, it's something I relished upon thoroughly !
The amalgamation of beautiful cinematography, effortless acting and a breezy screenplay yet hard-hitting & full of substance blended with some of the most melodious musical pieces worked wonders for me !
All the set pieces are just so perfect, almost every scene is like a photo frame and is brought to life by the awesome acting skills of the entire cast, every actor has given his/her best, the beauty of it all is just so evident !
Huge salute to Shankar Mahadevan and team for the unbelievable vocals that hit you right from the start & are just... WOW, WOW, WOW !
Almost every song would be a part of my Playlist !
From "Lab pe" to "Garaj Garaj" to "Padharo maare desh", I can simply name the entire album of this series,it's just magical !!
I enjoyed the romance, I laughed at the humorous one-liner dialogues,I became teary-eyed during the emotional scenes and I felt each & every emotion the protagonists were going through, such was the level of attachment developed by the creators of this enjoyable, solid musical series.
Good web series of such genres are really hard to find and this one is truly sensational !
It's just too good to miss !
Give it a watch, it's definetly worth the praise it's receiving !
If you're a fan of Indian classical music, you'll embrace this series with all your heart.
If you aren't, you'll definetly end up becoming one !
{ P. S - I've already been humming the song, "Chedkhaaniyan" on a loop since I've watched this lovely, lovely series }
Love Aaj Kal (2020)
Really strong direction let down by a below average story.
I know I would be getting a lot of flak for this but to be honest,I kind of liked the movie.
It has some major problems, the biggest being Sara's over-enthusiastic,way too loud performance which is truly a disaster. And the story too is way too superficial, lacking real depth & substance.
Yet it does have things to appreciate too.
The best being Imitiaz's direction which is one of his finest here, certain intense scenes were really very good & the pace of the movie was just perfect, didn't find a single boring scene.
Randeep Hooda's beautiful acting & the colourful sets added some serious charm.
Just wish the story was worked upon a bit more & the male lead had more to do too.
Feels sad to see an opportunity missed.
Yet it's a nice watch at home,I thoroughly enjoyed it & connected with it's characters, felt the emotions & appreciated the good parts.
It definetly didn't deserve the terrible bashing it got.
It's sort of a beautiful mess !
Angrezi Medium (2020)
Heart-warming, super sweet movie which had the potential to be so much more !
In one line,Angrezi Medium is a nice, cute, decent movie which had the potential to be so much more !
It's able to portray the message it wants but somewhere it lacks depth & effectiveness in the way it tries to achieve this goal.
Homi Adajania has a history of giving some drab scenes in the movie he directs, where you,as an audience, lose connection with the film as a whole. He did this in Cocktail and a lot more in Finding Fanny.
And he repeats the same here, specially during the first 30-45 mins or so where certain unnecessary humour is somehow forcefully thrown at you which ends up being sort of lame. The entire first half is just about average with only 20-25 mins of genuine emotional screenplay time where you actually get the feels of the father-daughter relationshipship.
The second half is still well-directed,the comedy on point and makes you feel for the characters & their lives and certainly brings out the correct tone of the whole thought-process of the movie, enlightening the purity of the special bond that we,as children, share with our parents. The final few minutes are simply gold & will leave you a bit teary-eyed.
But overall, the direction should have been much better. This is where the film fails to soar to new heights,it's not tightly knit-up and does end up being a bit here & there, although the story-writer is also to be blamed here to some extent.
But what really stands out here are the performances !
The terrific trio of Irrfan Khan,Radhika Madan and Deepak Dobriyal are beyond exceptional !
Irrfan returns with a bang, he is just too good in almost every frame, such fantastic dialogue delivery, just Wow ! You really don't get such talented actors too often ! My heart goes out to him !
And he is complimented in the best way possible by Radhika. She has definetly proven a point here with her acting skills, the way she expressed, her accent, her crying, her subtle change in voice tone, she really has stood up to the occasion and given a wonderful performance ! Way to go girl !
And Deepak is hilarious as usual. He is doing what he does best and there is simply no one in the business like him.Such ease in everything he does, super smooth yet worthy of your laughter, he is supremely gifted. Keep it up man !
All these 3 supported by a small yet good cast are the main reasons for watching this movie.Kareena Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia are really good in their respective small roles.Solid performances that really uplift a movie !
And would like to mention the extremely small yet super funny cameo of Pankaj Tripathi.Another great actor !
All in all,the movie is really sweet, enjoyable and does succeed in it's message deliverance but it beats around the bush too much and keeps on losing it's track pretty often. It is definetly packed by outstanding performances by the whole cast and some pretty good comedy but all that definetly isn't enough to hold on to a somewhat meandering script, with a plot which seems too contrived and out of place at times, that too, held together by just above average direction.
It ultimately ends up being just a feel-good,heart-warming, sweet movie with a nice message, along with some genuine laughter moments.
Rating - 3.5/5 (watch it for the brilliant performances)
Thappad (2020)
An Unbelievable masterpiece ! An eye-opener to a plethora of horrifying truths prevalent in the society !
A movie which can't be reviewed.
It's shaken me to the core, chills & goosebumps were a constant and I still feel them whenever I think about this masterpiece !
I felt uncomfortable, uneasy & was literally sinking on my seat and that precisely is what this movie wants you to feel while showcasing certain aspects of life which, at least I, personally never even thought about, forget about considering them to be wrong. No, I'm not talking about that 1 SLAP, nopes. It's much more, so much more, something which we as humans just seem to not even think about !
This movie hits you hard, bluntly and way too severely. It's just cut through the very foundations of my basic morales, almost each & every dialogue is like a knife, piercing through your body.
Taapsee has delivered her best performance, you'll feel every bit of her emotions,
cry with her, feel whatever she's going through completely ! A HUGE SALUTE TO HER for doing this "highly required" movie ! Kumud Mishra is excellent as always & I loved the acting of the entire cast !
Anubhav Sinha is just the perfect director for this, I'm surprised being a male, he could actually make this one so hard-hitting & lethal in it's message deliverance. If you loved Article 15,you'll cherish this one ! Specially during the most important scene of this movie, when it's about to happen, you know it's coming yet when it occurs,it'll send shivers down your spine. Terrific work ! And I'm surprised a male writer could pen down this script thus breaking the unconventional notion that only a female can relate to such horrifying yet true issues so deeply !
It's truly brilliant, I just couldn't ask for anything more,it's made me think so much, made me feel inferior in ways I can't even describe properly and left me speechless !
It has so much to ponder over,I'll be thinking about it for quite a few days.It made me emotional,teary-eyed and was terrifying in unimaginable ways.
PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE GO & WATCH THIS MOVIE ! Every male needs to watch this and so does every female. The society needs this !
Rating - 5/5 (Feels so proud to see a movie making a breakthrough in stereotypical and orthodox society with primitive prejudices)
Lastly, this movie has changed me as a human,my perception towards feminism & opened my eyes to the horrendous injustice unknowingly being done in the society)
Try to watch it with atleast one female or discuss this movie with one,if you're a male,as you'll surprisingly realize so much more this exceptional piece of art has to offer !!
Jawaani Jaaneman (2020)
A perfect Dad-Daughter Love Story ! (Oh, I missed this version of Saif so much)
Saif hits the bullseye yet again !
Was very excited to watch this one & ended up at it's first day-first show.
And God this movie did not disappoint even one bit !
Full of hilarious scenes, crisp editing & fantastic direction, Jawaani Jaaneman soars high !
It's a mix bag of really, really funny scenes blended with feel-good songs & heart-felt emotions connecting you with it's narrative right from the very beginning when the groovy "Ole Ole 2.0" kick starts this throughly enjoyable ride !
Saif is in the form of it's life, doing those crazy, mischievous moves he is so good at and which are so infectious that he'll end up dancing his way into your hearts with an out-of-the-world chill ! He has gone all out here & is genuinely a treat to watch ! Loved every bit of your swag "Gabru Jazz" !
Alaya F is just too good with her acting skills, all her hard work & acting classes are completely evident here as she eases her way through this role & strikes the perfect emotion cords within you. It was a joy to watch her too !
The rest of the cast is brilliant & support & every scene with complete synchrony & add to the overall fun-filled tone of the movie. Kubbra Sait is looking stunning in every scene & delivers a mature performance and Tabu, though had more of a special/guest appearance, is outrageously hilarious with her "hippie" avatar & does justice to her small yet superbly funny role.
At the end of it all, this is a dad-daughter love story & excels in it's story-telling.A beautifully drawn out character arc of Saif's character boosted by an energetic performance by the man himself lifts this enjoyable movie to great extents !
It'll hit you right where it's supposed to, make you feel for the characters & deliver the message it wants to with complete clarity & honesty.
A movie (with a definite hollywoodish making) you'll enjoy with friends & family, keep laughing throughout, never get bored(not even for a single second) & cherish the old loving Saif we all missed for such a long time.
A movie of this genre and with this storyline couldn't have been better !

1917 (2019)
A Stunning Masterpiece ! (but I wish it was a bit more fast paced)
"A Visual Spectacle" - well, these movies are just class apart !
Though the best actor Oscar would be Joaquin's this year, but I'm almost certain that 1917 would easily grab the best picture academy award among several others that it truly deserves ! Yes, it's just unbelievably good !!
It's literally a war poetry wherein Sam Mendes shows us almost every aspect of a war scenario, threading it alongside the terrifyingly eventful journey of the protagonists accompanied by exceptional camera work,nail-biting background score & a cinematic environment that'll just demand your attention, while you're simply glued to the screen,in anticipation of what next is to follow, in this roller-coaster of a ride !
The execution is mind-blowing,with beautifully directed long takes, I couldn't even figure out a single point where the editing was evident.Flawless to say the least.
You'll feel as if you're a part of the entire movie,it's way too immersive & atmospheric.
That having said, I did find it a bit slow in a few parts but the decreased pace helps you get involved with the ongoing acts even more, thus enhancing your overall experience !
But yes, this movie deserves to be watched at a cinema hall. It's specifically made for that. And with probably just a week's time left for it at the cinemas,I would request you to give it a watch if you have the time, you won't regret it even one bit.
A group of 5-10 people in the hall, also clapped once the closing credits started rolling. The movie really does get to you.
Try to give this terrific,super-engaging movie a watch if you have the time !
It is, by all means, a sensational movie with some of the most iconic scenes to be ever present in a war-based movie !
Bala (2019)
A strong, important social message blended in an entertaining package.
So, in simple words, Bala is a movie built on a wonderful concept that is very important to address, not only in India, but in the whole world.
The entire idea behind this "baldness", rather the "imperfections of a human being" concept has been utilized really well & portrayed so boldly and effectively that it actually ends up being a bit disturbing which is in fact what it is meant to be.
The storyline is kept simple yet interesting enough and the crucial message is woven beautifully into it,specially the characters which are in fact contrasting each other & give the audience a clear demarcation between the two kinds of worlds the director and story-writer want us to see. Also keeping in mind to not let the audience feel bored by sprinkling in to the recipe, adequate jokes, gags, hilarious situations as well as cringy behavior of it's characters, which do make you laugh & have a fun time.
The Kanpuriya accent is just spot on,Ayushmann's mimicry is enjoyable & the throwback to some old bollywood songs does add that extra flavour to the overall active screenplay.
But at some places, the movie does end up being way too cringy & certain jokes do fall flat specially 30 mins before intermission, probably due to overdoing it. But that's not too much of a problem, rather where the movie does end up being a bit underwhelming is the fact that I couldn't connect too much to it, it was all fun & frolic but the emotional connect was lacking to a certain extent, apart from the last 30 mins of it's ending where it hit the spot accurately and the climax was(rather unexpectedly) brilliant !
The movie spends time on certain things way too much than it should hence reducing the time for things which needed more emphasis, specially towards the end, which though wasn't too long yet felt overstretched simply due to it's overlong preceding events.
The director sort of loses control in some parts but overall has done a fine job in bringing everything together, making sure he delivers the message as openly as possible. It's not exceptional yet commendable, could have been a bit stronger.
Ayushmann encounters known territory here & yet again pulls off the character to perfection. He has done it before & he does it again. Can't really ask for more from him.Great work !
Yami Gautam does a decent job & is able to make us giggle with her tik-tok personality but certain moments she had were way too cringy to bear(probably meant to make us feel that way). Yet the way her character contradicts the others is pretty good and helps to portray the content of this movie all the more beautifully.
Bhumi Pednekar is just fantastic, she possesses unbelievable acting skills. She has yet again outdone herself, first in Saand Ki Aankh and now here too ! But I have to admit the dusky complexion was irritating & it would have been better to take an actress whose natural skin colour was of that sort. But her character was also very well-written & enacted on screen in probably the best way possible.
Special mention of Saurabh Shukla,he is as always just too good in the few scenes he has.
Overall,Bala is really a movie this society needs ! It may not be perfect, has it's minor flaws as a film but the message it gives is so nice & equally important and it does complete justice on the "enlightening the audience" part and for that itself, it's worth watching.
It may not be a must watch kind of film(to go watch in a hall) but I would advise everyone to at least watch it once, whether in a cinema hall or on tv.
It's definetly not boring, entertaining enough to watch in a hall, delivers it's delightful message with utmost sincerity & purity, yet I feel it could have been better, it could have been "outstanding" rather than being "very good" but I wouldn't take anything away from it, it portrays itself superbly as a movie and I simply loved the way it ended, the way the climax was shown, just perfection at it's very best !
Rating - 3.75/5
Saand Ki Aankh (2019)
Thoroughly Entertaining, A Brilliant Piece Of Cinema
I still can't believe I was planning to watch Housefull 4 instead of this beautiful movie !
Yup, another really late review(which I wouldn't have written but then this movie is just so worthy of every appreciation possible).
A heartfelt, thoroughly entertaining and equally engrossing movie, Saand Ki Aankh is a winner in almost every aspect of cinema ! In one line, yes, "It is a MUST WATCH" so if you haven't seen it yet, please do yourself this favour & you won't regret it even one bit.
From the very beginning to the very last scene,I can't pinpoint a single scene where I was bored or I felt the movie was losing it's grip.
It's beautifully crafted, emotionally connective & has an energetic background score which really adds to the overall energy it already possesses.
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are simply outstanding ! I can't imagine how they even pulled this one off so smoothly, after this performance, I asure you they're both a force to reckon with as far as acting skills are concerned.Such chemistry, such a wide range of expressions, I was left stunned by their presence in this one. Yes, the make-up is a bit of a problem & their accent as well as dialogue delivery doesn't do complete justice to their ages shown in the movie but that didn't bother me one bit.The way their acting takes control of each scenario in every frame of the movie, you won't be able to notice a single mistake even if it's there.Loved them a lot together ! Way to go girls !
Apart from the underdog story, the way the director - Tushar Hiranandani showcases the gender inequality issue is really praise-worthy. It's hard-hitting,to the point,as realistic as it could be while commercializing it yet not letting it lose it's intensity. It's not an easy task to pull off but it's done to near perfection. Great work sir !
And the metaphorical impressions the movie portrays from time to time just add to it's overall symbolic appeal, they were made a little too noticeable though yet worked wonders adding to the charm.
Certain scenes are definetly cliché yet they are pulled off with such conviction by both the director & actors that they hit you right in the heart and succeed in achieving what they were meant to.
The hall was filled with a lot of aunties & uncles and it was a joy to see them cheering, specially the aunties, who were clapping & applauding whenever they could, yes, the movie had grasped each person's attention to that extent.
Personally,I myself got teary-eyed in a few scenes. The level of hard work gone in to making this delightful film is so evident throughout its duration, there were almost 3 or 4 times I thought the movie is going to end but it didn't, and I had no complains, it was enjoyable & almost the PERFECT FAMILY MOVIE !
It's definetly commercialized but just as much as is needed in a bollywood movie, so full marks to the director for maintaining a near perfect balance between commercial cinema & reality.
Highly recommend it(if you haven't watched it as yet). Such movies deserve to be appreciated.
Rating - 4.5/5
War (2019)
Entertaining in all the right ways (with some brilliant action scenes) !
In simple words, War is an almost perfect "Popcorn Entertainment" movie.
The makers knew very well what the audience would be expecting when they were bringing Hrithik against Tiger in an action flick and they've simply followed that path.
Hrithik is in top form as usual, literally owning the entire movie, with unlimited swag in every single thing he's doing,be it the fast action scenes, the cool breezy dancing or the ultra-slow motion moments where he emits charm like none other in the business, just about perfect for this role !
Tiger compliments him well though there's still a lot of scope as far as his acting ia concerned. He was, but ,brilliant in the fight scenes & obviously the energetic dancing.
The direction was decent, though the movie was going at a slightly slow pace in the first half.Certain camera angles were really innovative and I liked the fact such different things were tried. The direction was strong enough to hold the movie in a way that it somehow grabbed your attention while being entertaining as well.
The action directors(which in this movie are in fact 4 in number) really deserve a lot of credit, there were some unbelievable shots,heart-pumping action, almost touching Hollywood standards ! I really loved watching them and they are truly appreciable.
Felt proud seeing such kind of thrilling,fast-track scenes in a bollywood movie, specially since they were NOT over-the-top or completely unbelievable.
The enjoyable chase scenes, fights with fantastic background scores, involving helicopters, bikes, cars and god knows what else were pulled off so well ! Great work by the entire team !
The scenery was mesmerizing, the 2 songs thoroughly enjoyable(specially ghungroo) and Vaani Kapoor looked stunning, wish she had some more screen time(she really shouldn't have been in the movie poster also since she didn't even have 15 mins of screen time) and not an extended cameo sort of role.
Overall, the movie is extremely enjoyable and the colourful, vibrant landscapes add to the beauty but yes,the story isn't too good(which was kind of expected) but still has certain plot twists and keeps you hooked throughout,to be honest,it was satisfying enough and I was pretty happy with the script.
All in all, this movie is a nice watch with family/friends. It's entertaining, has certain exceptional adrenaline-filled action & chase scenes(by Bollywood standards), Hrithik's elegance & charm, Tiger's jumps & super kicks, a somewhat interesting storyline with certain not-so-great yet unexpected twists, nice music & really good background scores - a Complete Bollywood Package !
If you're looking for sheer entertainment, this movie is definetly for you !
Rating - 3.5/5 (Kudos to Siddharth Anand for at least trying to showcase the "Mission Impossible-like" stunts & action in a Bollywood movie and in fact, succeeding to a great extent)
Joker (2019)
A Masterpiece !! No movie can come even close to this much greatness !
Yes, presenting to you "A Masterpiece" !
That's all. No words can express this spectacle !
And please just give the Oscar to this guy - The Phoenix soars like never before ! Mind-blowing performance !
Todd Philips has created a beauty ! What level of work !!
Just go & watch it.
You can't afford to miss this ! You just can't !
No words can express the experience this movie gives you. Amazing !!
It's something like no one has ever seen before)
Wow !! Simply, Wow !!

Sacred Games (2018)
Beautiful on different grounds compared to the first season !
(No Spoiler)
Definetly worth the watch for the beautiful way of portraying the entire essence of what it stands for as a web series, the parallels drawn between its various characters, the topic makes us think which in itself is a great achievement for the web series, the wonderful Anurag Kashyap camera angles & screenplay & the dynamic actor duos - Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi !
😍👌👏
Their chemistry worked wonders ! 😂
But it does have certain significant problems too -
1)flawed development of some of it's characters
2)weird ageing patterns of its characters(this was so irritating at times)
3)Sudden use of Marathi language, that too so many times, which was so disconnecting as an audience(needed subtitles for that)
4)cliché cinematic moments, at times, predictable too
5)Sometimes the story-telling lost pace(but that was still acceptable as it tried to create an atmosphere for the viewer to sink in to)
6)completely foolish acts performed by some of it's characters at key moments which were way too absurd to actually accept.
Over all, I did expect a lot more from this season. It did deliver on many grounds, gave some really hard-hitting, effective episodes(specially episodes 5 & 6) and kept it pretty interesting till the very end.
The sad part is that somewhere it succumbed to the clichés of story-telling which made it lose it's unpredictability factor and at times,it's liveliness too but still it was pretty engaging & got me hooked on to it till the very end !
Would be waiting for the 3rd season eagerly !
Super 30 (2019)
A Soulful Art of Brilliance !
I generally don't write about a movie which I'm unable to see during it's first weekend of release.
But this movie is special ! Won't be saying much but it deserves every bit of appreciation it's getting ! After Dangal, this is probably the only movie that's able to carry itself on just the basis of it's drama,no stupid jokes, no forceful dance numbers, no cheap dialogues, nothing... It's completely the pure drama that grips you from the very first scene right till the predictable yet soulful climax !
Hrithik has outperformed himself, what acting ! Amazing skills. It was like you, yourself are going through each & every bit of emotion that he is feeling, it just felt so real !
He's definetly going to be a strong contender in all the award ceremonies this year and certainly for the National Award !
After a long time,I would be carrying a huge part of a movie with me for, may be, the rest of my life.
Thank you Vikas Bahl, Thank You Hrithik and Thank you to the whole team of Super 30 !
If you haven't seen this masterpiece, just run to the theater & experience this beautiful, beautiful movie, the goosebumps, the emotions, the inspiring vibes it possesses, all just make for a "MUST WATCH" piece of brilliance !
Bharat (2019)
Amazing First Half but an equally Disastrous Second Half ! So much potential but all wasted !
This is one of those rare movies where when the intermission arrived,I was like "why has this movie got such negative reviews" since it was so engaging & entertaining - comedy, emotions, some sort of story, heroic Salman moments, enjoyable well-picturised songs, beautiful chemistry between Salman & Katrina & some crisp direction to hold all these things together wonderfully !
And then came the second half & everything went crashing down like anything.Long scenes, unnecessary songs which were so boring, some really ridiculous scenes that were cringe-worthy to a great extent & everything being done to somehow stretch the movie for no reason whatsoever. It was really disappointing to see so much potential being out there & yet completely made a mess out of for sheer lack of a good plot & direction skills.
The overly dramatized last 30-40 mins were so poor in direction that it ended all sorts of connection of the audience with the characters that were so nicely developed in the first half ! The tiring bad songs played a huge part in this & sadly some good moments in-between went down the drain completely ! An entire ship sequence was so dumb & irritating and an out-of-the-blue lazily directed action scene with bikers was so not needed among the many useless portions!
It was a shame that a movie which could have been one of the best movies of the year just fell out so badly ! So much calibre & all ends up being another tubelight sort of ending !
It was good to see Salman Khan trying something a little different from his cliches & his acting was really good in this but in simple words, it's not that easy to make another Bajrangi Bhaijaan ending that would touch the audience in the same way. This one just fell flat !
Rating ~ 1st half - 4/5
2nd half - 1.5/5
Overall - 3/5
It's not a movie where you won't be able to sit through, hence if you have free time, you can go for it, as a one time watch but waiting for it to come on the television would be a better option !
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
The Epic Finale of the Infinity Saga - Incredibly Amazing
An emotional roller-coaster ride filled with the loudest of cheers, the most thunderous of claps and the worst of the tears rolling down my cheeks !
My throat was literally paining with all of the cheering & my eyes were red, yup, that's how much I cried !!
The entire hall was sobbing & crying, and it's just then you realize how much these characters mean to all of us !
And it's filled with some of the best of surprises ! So avoid spoilers as much as possible !
A fitting end to the Infinity Saga, great work Russo Brothers ! 3 hours just flew by, couldn't even afford to miss a single second of what was being shown ! That's how good it was !
And the fan service it does is simply beyond imagination ! Almost like a tribute to the glorious movies that lead up to this epic finale !!
Won't say anything more, just GO & WATCH IT !
Don't even dare to miss it !
Rating - Can't rate this one, it surpassed way beyond my expectations ! Just go & experience this " once-in-a-lifetime " thriller of a movie !
Just a warning - Be Ready.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Entertainment Galore And a Perfect Revelation of the Avengers' Beginning !
A wonderful movie with so many clap-worthy moments, classic acting by the ever-stylish Samuel.L.Jackson & superbly entertaining, typically the Marvel way !
The direction was too good here with not a single dull moment, the movie runs along in the first half at a pretty good pace. The second half is more of emotions & enjoyable climax !
The entire cast has given their best in the acting department though I feel Larson could've been a bit better. The jokes were right on point though !
And what fun was it to watch it with so many other die-hard Marvel fans, cheering along the whole way.
And kudos to "Girl-Power" !!
DON'T MISS this one, specially as it holds quite a lot of importance with respect to Avengers: EndGame.
And yes,for me,the best character was Goose, the Cat(you'll know why).
P.S - Icing on the cake ~
1)The Stan Lee tribute at the very beginning.
2)The surprisingly revealing first post-credit(rather, the mid-credit) scene which was simply EPIC ! EndGame is not even 2 months away !
Can't wait !
For now, this is the perfect movie to make the wait all the worth more desperate ! <3
Zero (2018)
A truly Magical love Story !! SRK and Anushka weave magic !!
What is wrong ??
No,NOT with the MOVIE,but with so many people !! Hatred, that too,so very much ? For such a delightful treat ?
Yes,I was forced to enter the hall nervous, knowing that ~
" this movie has an enjoyable first half and a horrible second half" ......but believe me guys, don't listen to these statements !
Every one has their own opinion and taste for a particular movie and in this case,it will vary a lot ! I can understand why many people haven't liked "Zero" but that doesn't mean you won't !!
For a SRK fan ~ Just don't miss this one, you're bound to love it,at least there are high chances !!
For others ~ It's difficult to take guarantee cause everyone won't be able to relate to this kind of cinema, yet I would request you all to give it a try,you actually might come out really satisfied !
Just thought of clearing this first !! (And this review is not affected by the fact that I am a SRK fan)
As for me,I've just fallen in love with Zero !!
THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU SRK,YOU ARE FINALLY BACK !
It's very important to get a few things straight here ~
It's a "fairy tale" kind of movie,it's really really essential to get this !! It will take some time to get the whole point of whatever is happening, logic is played with at times(well it is in almost every movie) and it's extremely important to get that connection with the characters, specially the beloved "Bauaa Singh" !!
From the beginning till the very end,I enjoyed myself thoroughly while a beautiful arc was carved out of Bauaa's character !!
The screenplay does go out of place at times but the direction manages to hold the script and the feel of the movie pretty well.
The acting is simply awesome,Anushka carries her character with such ease and the surprise package here was Katrina. You could feel for her at times as well as understand what she was going through.Kudos to Anand.L.Rai for pulling off such an unexpected performance from Katrina (who isn't known much for her acting skills).
And SRK has really gotten into the skin of Bauaa Singh, making us laugh, get emotional as well as live each and every moment with this one-of-a-kind protagonist !!
I was just mesmerised when the song "Mere Naam Tu" showed up,you can't have a song more beautifully potrayed than this.Brilliant work by the makers and SRK himself, doing exceptionally well what he does best !
Yes,the Salman Khan song was unnecessary(was mainly added to pull in some more crowd to the theatres) yet it was choreographed so well and so much effort put into it,that it did add some extra fun !
Certain cameos were really not needed in the movie but one can let that pass. The VFX was well done(could have been better at places) yet pulled off well !
All in all,I loved the fact the Anand.L.Rai tried to do something different than an old-school Rom-Com,add that spark, specially towards the climax, which to some it might come out as boring, unrealistic etc etc yet to others(like me),it worked wonders !!
The movie could have been better at places, certain scenes, certain dialogues could have been improvised but that doesn't take away anything from all the good that was showed !! I didn't find the movie to be excessively long,it did not need more editing,it was just about perfect.
I felt the sentiments, got emotional,2 scenes towards the end gave me immense goosebumps as well and yes,I loved the fact that SRK has finally got it right with this one !!
Oh,and yes,I preferred the second half more than the first !!
Srk and Anushka Sharma have really weaved a magical story !!
Some might find this movie quite ridiculous, insane and fail to understand the whole point of it,but I hope that the hidden ingredients of love, compassion, understanding from your failures, rising again and affectionately doing what you think is right, are felt and understood by the others.I hope this movie doesn't end up being misunderstood and failing to succeed just cause of others' negative reviews !!
At the end of the day, whether you're a hero or a zero, love is one thing that won't be affected by this fact !!
Rating ~ 3.5/5
For SRK fans ~ 4/5 (believe me,SRK knows how to spread love even if he is a Zero )

Tumbbad (2018)
A Cinematic Beauty !! Keep'em coming !
Was really wanting to watch this for quite some time now and finally got a chance !
An interesting mythological story draped in a horror presentation and some hard-hiting background music score really gives you the eerie -filled curiosity feeling that the director wanted to.
Tumbbad is a very well-made movie and it delivers superbly on many grounds. The entire atmosphere created is just spectacular, the rains, the spooky rhythm, the nicely managed camera angles(which were out of place at times but did give that extra effect that was needed and went well with the dark feel) and the beautiful narrative that made the story all the more intriguing and the premise radically different from other movies.
The acting doesn't play a big role here but nonetheless all the actors lived their chraracters to near perfection, with Soham Saha bringing an extra layer of personality to the main lead with certain expressions and laughs that really added greatly to the overall ambience.
The story-telling,the concept and the overall imagination is terrific ! The movie hooks you to the screen from the very beginning, providing answers to all the questions that sprung up in your head,as it moves calmly, letting you enjoy the overall mystic flavour of its premise. The CGI has been done really well and the best part being that not a single shot or scene of the movie seems to be extra or unnecessarily added.
It's a different movie and probably that's what is the best thing about it.I was thrilled by some of the scenes and it definetly used up a lot of my energy coming out through feelings of anticipation and extreme surprise at certain points, specially the climax which is truly unpredictable and quite enjoyable !
Should give this one a watch for it's sheer justice and purity in what it intends to be - as Jonathan Barkan of Dread Central wrote ~ " the film is more focused on the horror of human behavior than it is on creaking doors and the terror of what lurks in the dark."
I strongly recommemd to watch this one on the big screen cause that's where you'll actually sense it's true nature of darkness, atmospheric brilliance and the wonderfully-created monster/s !!
Kudos to debutant director Rahi Anil Barve and Adesh Prasad. It feels proud to see such movies being made in India.Keep'em coming !!
Andhadhun (2018)
A movie you just can't afford to miss !! Exceptionally brilliant !
"They don't make such movies anymore"
That's the thought that came to my head while I got up after this roller-coaster of a ride came to it's end,or did it ?
Apart from feelings of extreme excitement and a gush of energy all due to the amazement towards the smartly crafted end,I was left with no words to describe this masterpiece !! From start to finish, all just seemed so perfect,in fact,at times, beyond perfect !! These are the kind of movies you actually live for,the ones you can applaud for a really really long time even after it's present tenure ends.
The actors were exceptionally good in their skills,Ayushmann was really smooth in his approach but for me the stand-out performance was by Tabu.Again proving her calibre, she was way too amazing in certain scenes, bringing out humour with sparks of insanity interpersed between some really serious moments throughout the entire movie !
But among all of this, the real star is Sriram Raghavan himself ! Such skillful camera angles, gripping screenplay and a story so interesting in it's approach, you can barely even afford to wink with the scare of missing something important ! This is vintage Raghavan,at his very, very best.By far, this is one of his best works till date in a category which flaunts movies like "Ek Haseena thi" and "Badlapur" !
A big salute sir, wish I could hug you for this one ! A huge thanks for this brilliant,out-of-the-box,gripping thriller.Really wishing for more such ventures in the future from you !
A "MUST WATCH" definetly,Andhadhun just gives you everything. From a curiosity-filled canvas to an eerie yet extremely enjoyable atmosphere, subtle nuisances with the camera-work which work wonders leading people to say "Oh my God" and "Haww" so many times,I haven't enjoyed a movie so so so much in the recent times !!
Remembering certain scenes of the movie are still giving me goosebumps ! Don't miss it at any cost !! Such movies are really rare to come across nowadays!
Stree (2018)
Not a perfect movie but an extremely entertaining one with a subtle satirical tone to it !!
Just watched this "one of a kind" movie - STREE !!
And God,what a blast we had !! Fast paced, completely involving, this one takes you on a ride of it's own!!
One of the best,if not,the best horror comedy I've watched till date !! And I always love a baffling ending from which one can derive his own conclusions.
Sensational performances by the entire cast, specially Rajkumar Rao as always ! It's not a perfect movie but completely serves whatever is expected of it !!
Amar Kaushik is brilliant as director and Raj & DK are impressing me from Go Goa Gone to Happy Ending(as directors) and now Stree(as producers),I'm literally a big fan of their "hatke" movies !!
Highly recommended, just go and watch this in the hall with your friends if you haven't,really not worth missing!!
And I'm eagerly waiting for the sequel of Go Goa Gone and obviously Stree !!
For now, enjoy this entertaining piece of work from this impressive director and the amazing producers who trusted this project !!
Baaghi 2 (2018)
A one-time watch !
Hadn't thought of going for this before. But then a free Sunday and my love for movies somewhat dragged me into the theatres.
Now,I was prepared, even before booking the tickets that Baaghi 2 would be a typical bollywood masala kind of flick.. And yes, that it was !!
Was really impressed by the storyline for the 1st half.Kept me guessing throughout, though at the end, I realised I had predicted each & every single thing correctly which was a huge disappointment. So first advice - DON'T TRY TO PREDICT !
Secondly, the direction is at most average with some action stunts being shot & done brilliantly while others were just meh.
Tiger's acting has definitely improved but there's a long way to go. Surprisingly, Disha's acting was very bad, at times too cringy though she looked awesome !!
Randeep Hooda, by far, was the stand out man in terms of acting, having a magnificent aura of his own, getting most of the claps by the audience while Manoj Bajpayee was under-utilised.
Oh,and yes, that "Ek do teen" song ? Let's not even talk about it.A terrible disaster.
Overall, it's a one-time watch. A brilliant premise created pretty much in the 1st half is spoiled towards the end by some cliche scenes & over-the-top action.
Not boring but definitely NOT a must watch !!
