The Rehearsal (2022)
I can hear the "OK Boomer" reactions already
I watched 3 episodes and I can't think of a good reason to give this any more of my time. It's not terrible or offensive, I just find it pointless and not particularly funny. I'm not sure what exactly the likers find so brilliant that merits a 9.0 average, but this is neither the first nor best mockumentary I've seen. I'm not looking to insult anyone for liking this, I just don't think it targets my demographic, which is fair enough.

A lot of questions are raised by seeing this movie, such as how universally applicable are the techniques employed in this California farm; what would California have been like today if it hadn't be settled and mono-cropped the way it has been. The farm documents a family's fascinating attempt to co-exist with nature, including the species traditionally thought of as pests (even if it means turning those pests into part of the diet for the domesticated species). My career has been spent in IT, about as far away from farming as could be possible, yet I see the same types of intellectual challenges being faced and addressed by this team of farmers as I have dealt with in my career. If only this film inspires young, bright minds to see the challenges, rewards and opportunities that lie outside of the career paths they are being pigeon-holed into ...
