Outer Range (2022)
Stick with it
This has started off great - Josh makes a fantastic old school rancher, and the mystery and Gods connection is hugely interesting.
The cinematography is GORGEOUS. The tones, the vignettes, the shots.
Stick with it.
The Orville (2017)
Proper Star Trek
This is more Star Trek the any of the new "Star Treks".
It starts off a bit, almost slapstick but then really comes into its own. The music, the characters, the plots... it's everything you need if you miss proper Star Trek.
Invasion (2021)
Imagine what it could have been
With a budget of $200m, it certainly looks great. However... it could have been so much more. It's ridiculously slow in points with copious amounts of people, seemingly just moping 🤷🏻
Also, using Sam Neil as a hook was great - alas he's in one episode.
Overall it's filmed fantastically, the cinematography is really great (albeit the one EXTREMELY dark episode) however there is no real cohesion. I've stuck with it as a lover of science fiction but I wish it had been done differently - it could have been something much better.
Hopefully season 2 will be great!
