Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Wow! The number of people who DO NOT UNDERSTAND WOKENESS!!
You do realize that TOS had an episode called "let that be your last battlefield" that specifically dealt with racism. Remember the original Trek dealt with social issues of the day and every Trek has continually done this as well. Seeing events of the last few years on a history of earth is hardly about WOKENESS or .. gasp...socialism!
Sit back, relax, turn your mind off and enjoy it! Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not Tucker Snarlson.
Star Trek: Picard: The End Is the Beginning (2020)
STAR TREK HAS ALWAYS, I REPEAT, ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT CONTEMPORARY TIMES.
Whine, whine, whine... it's not Star Trek...it's too Star Warsy... it's not TNG...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Shut up!! Get a life!! Star Trek has always had much to say about the current conditions the world finds itself in. Picard is no different. For those of you who don't get it we are facing a mountain of fear, prejudice and entitlement. The governments want you to fear everything and give away your civil liberties in the name of security.
Thank you Picard for holding up the mirror for society to see what is really going on. If you want endless action scenes that are pointless go watch the Avengers movies.
Picard makes you think and reflect on where we are today. I thank the people who have put this show together. Bravo!
The Upside (2017)
Mediocre attempt falls short of the spark of the original
Yes I have seen both the original and this Hollywood claptrap. The remake here lacks any of the appeal and boldness of the original. Driss has far more charisma than Dell. That was one of the key factors that Hollywood choose to ignore and screwed up the story because of this decision. As stated throughout these reviews, "WATCH THE ORIGINAL"! This one is a waste of time.
Bao (2018)
A lifetime packed into 8 minutes! That's incredible!
Fantastic! To those who think it is disturbing, GROW UP! Heaven forbid that this is the way the creator of this film sees parenting! Everbody experiences life differently. Watch it for yourself. It adds to the overall joyful elation of seeing a great movie like the Incredibles 2!
Star Trek Continues (2013)
Fan Based Fun! (or who needs Hollywood anymore)
It's great to see the people who "get it". Now for those who don't "get it", ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR VULCAN MIND!!!! Many of the negative comments are from those who obviously are unaware that this is an amateur fan based creation. Hollywood HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! So don't feed us lines like the producers should give us what we want. Is it perfect-no, is it good-yes, is it fun- yes, is it like the original series-yes! The fact that professional actors from other sci-fi series took the time to be on this is simply amazing! Jamie Bamber and Erin Gray were fantastic in their cameo roles. Bringing back original guests stars from TOS was a smart move as well. I have now watched both Star Trek Continues and Phase 2. Both are enjoyable for the sheer fact that they are just fun to watch and step back into the sights and sounds or the original, right down to the perfect timing of the music. To the naysayers I will quote William Shatner, "Get a life!"
