Hyena (2020)
I need a season 2 like yesterday!
I have watched a few courtroom based Kdramas and this one I classify as epic! Not a dull moment and omg don't even get me started on the last 2 episodes that were out of this world hilarious, amazing and downright addictive.
Kudos to the writer for such an outstanding character like Jung Geum Ja, and Kim Hye Soo who portrays her. I bow down to the mistress. Let's be honest, the woman stole the show and every scene she was in.
I need a season 2!!!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Would happily go and watch it again!
I was a teenager when I discovered Queen, pretty much because of the movie Highlander.
So to be honest, all I knew was the music and not really any dramas and gossip. I love their music to this day, so I was hell bent on seeing this movie.
I can tell honestly that I was pretty up constantly in tears the second half of the movie. I cannot speak to historical accuracy or to personalities being properly portrayed but I felt that the actors did a great job, Rami was amazing, I felt he gave such a good portrayal, the mannerisms were pretty much spot on.
I am sure some things were embellished or changed for the purpose of the movie and I will not hold it against them. It is not like I wasn't expecting it.
For me who loves the music, I was happy.
Charmed (2018)
What were they thinking?
As a huge fan of the original Charmed series, this is terrible.
Honestly, how could anyone think for a second that this was acceptable to put on air. I am usually happy to give a lot of room for growth but this isn't worth it. I don't see any chemistry between the characters, they don't gel well together and yes... either give me something worthy of the original series or I do not want to see it.
Disappointed!!
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018)
Actually enjoyed it!
I am surprised at all the terrible reviews but honestly it was really quite decent overall.
The acting was quite good, I like the selection of actors and well the plot is what it is.
I am French, so I figured out the Cyrano inspiration reading the description, so having grown up knowing the story, seeing the movie with Gerard Depardieu, I know what we were getting into. I thought the adaptation into our modern times was not bad even though I had issues with that first kiss moment.
My personal standout is the Sierra/Veronica relationship evolution. Is it the best movie on Netflix? No, is it the worse? Again, No!
Could it be better?? Well of course...
I enjoyed it, it did what it needed to do which is distract me for a certain amount of time!
Afterburn/Aftershock (2017)
Holy Cheesus!!!
Never read the book, but my gosh who wrote this script??
I mean it is unimaginative, flat and downright horrible! I think the issue with the bad acting stems from the crap tasting and cringe lines that Jax has to spout. It may looked ok on paper (though I doubt it!) how could anyone be ok once said out loud is beyond me.
The story was ok, I did like the female lead... I may have to read the book though cause this is mediocre at best!
