Bangalore Days (2014)
Not a review
I am not here to review this .. I just wana thank the team for making this movie ...whenever i feel down this comes to my rescue .
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
why??
Being a breaking bad fan boy I had large expectation on this one ..but there seemed to be no point in making this .
the ending of BB was perfect ..it was kind of open enough and left many things to our imagination ..
even the death of Walter was not confirmed (as Bryan himself told in an interview later ) .
There was nothing new in El Camino..it was boring and doesn't even deserve to be an episode of BB .
La casa de papel (2017)
May be a 7.2.. Dumb and Dumber
People complaint about the seasons 3 and 4 (which i never watched ) but i found nothing special with even the first 2 seasons
The robbers were dumb , the professor was dumb to have a relationship with the inspector and how the hell was their asses saved?...coz the police were dumber .
Anbe Sivam (2003)
cult classic
Masterpiece for Kamal. Meaningful and deep dialogues , realistic story , great acting , soulful music , right dose of communism atheism philosophy ..what else do we want from a movie...He gave it all...still it was not a hit when it released.Hope GOD forgives the people of TN for this
Sillu Karuppatti (2019)
Decent movie
Kind of over hyped . It is a decent movie with a good work from cinematographer . I am not keeping the other Tamil movies as yardstick but when comparing with world class cinemas the characters feel artificial and dialogues feel forced .
Despite its flaws any day I would watch this movie rather than watching sum masala crap .
Chhichhore (2019)
Overrated
After all the good reviews and the natural expectations from the 'Dangal' director I watched this movie.
This is just average i would rate this one 6/10 .
If u have seen the trailer u would guess that it has similarities to 3 idiots and SOTY 1. That is true .Many scenes reminded me of those two movies .The plot was very predictable.
The plus was the characterisation. Every characters were well established . Dialogues were good.
I would definitely watch it on a Sunday afternoon .But won't rate this one that high .
Kaala (2018)
Much better than the rating suggests
Once in a while i wonder why this movie is so underrated . Having watched most of the Rajini movies , I found this to be fresh. While kabali was too less Rajinified and Petta was Overdosed with Rajini I found Kaala to be the perfect mix of both.
There was an air of vulnerability about Kaala which we normally don't associate with Rajini, right from the opening scene when he gets clean bowled . That makes us root for the character and worry for him . This is no longer the thrash everyone with bare hands type of Rajini which we have grown accustomed to .
The BGM from Santhosh Narayanan rocks all the way . Nana Patekar's acting was good. The 2nd half was a wee bit dragging. The climax was courageous attempt and it was the apt one for the movie . I can imagine how many would have been against it.
I still can't digest the low rating of this movie. This is one of the best n a divergent movie in Rajini's career . And seeing Rajini rooting for such issues which he doesn't care about in real life was fun too :D
Petta (2019)
Irritating
May be the movie was not for me . Though a Rajini fan like most of TN I wish he acts in more movies like kala ..he is no longer young and all those scarfs and full hand shirts to hide the wrinkles ... Ufff...
Thavamai Thavamiruntu (2005)
World cinema
Throughout the world, master pieces have been movies which narrate the life of the people of that region. This one is certainly a masterpiece in tamil cinema. Being a 90s kid each time I watch this movie I am touched and I see my dad through Rajkiran's character.
