Steven Universe: Lars of the Stars (2018)
Lars Wars
Should have had the space adventures of Lars instead of the Steven/Connie arc the past few episodes.
The Game Changers (2018)
Ever heard of prana? It's not about Meat vs Plants
Great film for bringing awareness around the materials you put in your body.
However, it sorely lacks (i.e. not mentioned at all) in the basic principles of why eating food is so important for life, and why food sustains life in the first place.
You get energy from food, simple. But more specifically, the food you eat releases pranic energy into your body.
We also get prana from breathing. Some advanced meditators and yogis can live for long periods of time on breath alone.
Eating meat isn't a poor practice. But, the manner in which you acquired the meat, and subsequently put it into your body is the practice that's important. Many animals are carnivores, and they are very strong. Think of alligators or crocodiles.
However, the manner in which humans eat meat is absolutely disgusting. Hardly any humans hunt, and using a gun can hardly be classified as hunting. The meat they eat has been dead for a very long time. There is hardly any prana, living energy, left in a dead piece of steak or a grilled hamburger.
Crocodiles however, capture and eat their prey while their prey are still alive. The animal is wriggling as they chew and swallow every part of the animal. Massive amounts of pranic energy are absorbed by the crocodile in this manner.
Sure you can make the argument that humans, in the early days, ate meat. But it's the manner in which they captured their prey, persistence hunting, getting close to the animal to kill it, and how fresh the meat was when eaten.
Plants should be viewed in a simllar light. How fresh are the plants? How cooked are they? How processed are they? Are you eating canned vegetables? Very little prana in that. I'm sure you can tell the difference between canned peas and fresh peas when you eat them.
Don't just worry about what you are eating. Think about how you are growing it (gardeners), or buying it, cleaning it, cutting it, processing it, cooking it. All of this interaction with the food increases the amount of pranic energy available when you finally put it in your mouth to chew it. And this final step of chewing is the most important step.
Chewing your food longer, lessens the digestive impact the food has on your system, and maximizes the amount of energy you can absorb from the food. There is a reason why you can feel so full from so little if you are mindfully eating.
Watch this film if the science intrigues your rational mind. But food goes much deeper than the scientific analysis and studies.
