My Hotter Half (2017)
Weeds out the cynics from the romantics
This show is not as bad as the cynical folks make it out to be. It is true that the focus on style will appeal to some shallow types, and just sad that the producers retain the duties of the makeup artist only for the female makeovers. However that is about as much negativity as I can muster. The natural performances, especially by the dapper Melvin Odoom, really blow the lid off this thing. All the couples looked like they had renewed zeal for their stable relationships after they found out if strangers were dtf. If I were on this show my ravishing GF would surely win in a landslide, but I would let her have the makeover too. All in all, if this show can set an example to bring me and my future fiancé closer together, you know that's the goods. Netflix just churns out this stuff too. They would do well to give this thought-provoking program the promo it deserves!
Joker (2019)
As the film resonates, do not stifle reviews
It seems a few people are upset about any advance reviewing of The Joker here. If this is you, you will not last a minute in director Todd Phillips's deranged world. Pitiful as you will miss the sheer force of Phoenix channeling the incarnate mad man. This kind of acting, story, and cinematography is not for the weak of heart. Who knows if Oscar lover's will even know the higher level of what they are looking at. My guess is, when they realize it can not be compared to Ledger's portraying, they will have to see this Jokester for what he is, our inner darkness.... Rating 9 as perfection is for liars and cowards
Dating Around: Leonard (2019)
A dating odyssey for the ages
Wow. Just wow. I flipped to this episode out of boredom, thinking hey, a way to kill some time...boy was I wrong. Leonard's story of blind dating is one for the ages. A eccentric old gentleman, I know what your thinking right, dating is for youngsters... wrong. Leonard knocked it out of the park. From the first minute I knew he was going to bring something special to the table (and not just his martini, ha ha). Ever since his wife died he was a widow, but he is back out to woo the ladies. You will never guess the one he picked! (hint... no phones allowed;) I will not spoil too much but safe to say Leonard is one smooth gent, with a trick up his sleeve, even admitting to a illegal secret. Chills. Don't miss this one next time your looking for a good watch... HIGHLY recommended!!!
