Scooter LaForge: A Life of Art (2023)
An Epic Artist and Incredible Journey
This film takes us through a dynamic journey of Scooter La Forge's Life from his early childhood not fitting in, to his move to San Francisco and finally to New York. As an art lover, especially New York street art, I found this documentary extremely engaging and beautiful both visually and the Artist's life, Scooter La Forge's art is colorful and fabulous. The entire time, I felt like I was walking through the East Village and Lower Eastside on a sunny weekend. The interviews Ethan Minsker used with New York City Art World staples bring the viewer into the life of Scooter in an intimate and honest way. I was also fascinated with how Mr Minsker stylistically used a variety of mixed mediums in a unique and masterful way to add even more depth to the story he was conveying. There is so much I can recommend about this is a documentary but I'll just say, it's not to be missed. Watch it. You won't regret it.
Six Years Gone (2022)
Emotional and Heart Wrenching What a roller coaster of Emotions
Emotional and Heart Wrenching
What a roller coaster of emotions. I came across Six Years Gone on TubiTV and decided to watch it as it had won quite a few rewards. I have to say it did not disappoint. I can't imagine the mother's pain. The story was heart wrenching...and the mother's emotions came out in every scene. The acting was perfect. "Six Years Gone" was well written and directed. The casting was perfect. I would definitely recommend this film. I have always been a fan of Indie Film. It proves that you don't need to have a huge budget in order to make a good film. Story, Directing, script and casting is all you need. I am looking forward to seeing more of Warren Dudley's film.
The Berlin Bride (2019)
Very Unique
I was surprised by how unique this was. A quirky little art house film. Perfect German humor. Two lonely men searching for something most of us long for. They take it to a different place though. I really enjoyed the odd way they found what they were searching for. The score was great as well. I love how European films use music, in the case of Berlin seeing that it was more visual than dialogue based the music did the perfect job to push the story along. This proves you can tell a story without endless chatter.
Dix pour cent (2015)
A show you should not miss.
Call my Agent - Dix pour cent (French for 10%) This is one the best shows in a long time, I started watching it while I was in France and had to continue once I got back. It's super smart and unique. I love that the clients of the agents play themselves. You really get to know the characters throughout the seasons.
Even though it's in French don't be nervous. There are always subtitles. I'm sad that this season is set to be the last.
Grease (1978)
Makes we happy every time I see it
No matter how many times I watch it, I never get tired of it. It is by far my favorite musical on the big screen. It makes me happy. I really can't imagine there is anyone out there who has never seen in. That would be shocking! But if there is some one somewhere who has not, you have to watch it! Tell me more tell me more was it...
Untouched (2017)
This Should be a Series
Let me start with, I think this could be a really great weekly series. The Law firm taking on new cases each week - as we continue to learn more about the main characters. I do enjoy things like this. the Cinematography was beautiful...found the outside nature shots to be absolutely picturesque...the score was great. All around I enjoyed it. I love it when I see new projects. Hopefully the filmmakers are thinking about trying to turn this into a series.
Purdah (2018)
A must watch.
I don't normally watch Docs but I came across Purdah the other day...and I can say, I am glad I did. Purdah is a great film. It's a inspiring story of what 3 sisters face in India. Most of us take for granted what we have. These girls were amazing and director did a great job showing the challenges these girls face...something which is unimaginable in the US.
