Doctor Who: Fury from the Deep: Episode 2 (1968)
Easter Egg
Is nobody doing to comment on the wanted poster in the pipe room. Such a great tribute to Roger Delgado 3 years prior to his appearance as the Master.
Although I'm sure this was unlikely to have been in the filmed version, I'm loving that it's in the animation.
Regards the episode, cute story and very classic Doctor who as he follows the clues, fights the menace and deals with the bureaucracy of the tin pot dictator or the week.
Frazier Hines at his best as the trying to be macho Jamie trying to impress Victoria while ending up as the one in distress.
Some bad and some good acting but worth it fir the storyline.
The Reckoning (2023)
Unease
Have just started watching the 1st episode and I feel so uneasy at the obvious predatory nature of the man that nobody called him on in his lifetime.
Must admit that I never liked him in "jim'll fix it" or on "top if the pops" so obviously am looking for a reason for my feelings.
That being said Steve Coogan does a good job with such a subject, people say its Alan Partridge with a blonde wig but missing the point that the Alan Partridge persona was based I believe on a number of DJ's that were around in 60's.
I also can't believe that BBC who ignored his behaviour is now prepared to profit off of the misery he cause.
My Family: Janey's Choice (2011)
Writes not paying attention to their old writing
Once again to get a laugh we ignore a previous declared point , the last time we saw Mark he was married. Hence janies flap about Kenzo calling Marks wife "New Mummy" yet there is no mention of his ex wife or are we just supposed to have forgotten this. Its no wonder that reports said that Robert lindsay and Zoe Wannermaker had enough of the writing by this point, as they the writers had given up on keeping anything previously said or done as law.
Also having Roger try to propose when his previous interactions are non existent is ridiculous. I remember watching this show at the beginning of its run and because I was looking for boxsets to watch on BBC i-player I thought I'd give it another go. SERIOUSLY WISHING I HAD GIVEN UP EARLIER!!!!
