The Man Who Sold His Skin (2020)
Strange and beautifull
Original, not to be missed by all those who love the art of cinema. Acting, directing, scenario, messages all at a very high level. Maybe not for everyone, but definitely for those who love quality and seek for something new and different. Enjoy.
The Vanishing (2018)
Obviously underrated
I nearly missed this film because of the relatively low rating that had in IMDB . I finally watched it yesterday . Very good in all , directing , acting, photography , characters . A good thriller and a quality piece of cinema. Go for it .
Busanhaeng (2016)
Watch out , THIS IS A B-MOVIE !
A movie with childish acting and writing in many points , involves all the cliches of this kind of movies with nothing new. I was mislead by ratings and reviews in IMDB and watched it. If you want quality in cinema you can find it in some zombie movies like the recent "The cured" but there is no quality in this one. I was not really thrilled and got bored after first hour. Watchable with pop corn ,friends and laughs if your expectations are low. Obviously overrated and a B-Movie .
Brad's Status (2017)
Sophisticated
Bitter , with a delicate sense of houmor, great acting , directing so carefully handled in every step of the movie , script sophisticated containing so many and well put facts of life ,in such a simple way from all views , absolutely worth watching especially if you are middleaged .Go for it.
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
Overrated
An overrated film with two faces : rather boring and cliché in the first half and a good war/ heroic film in the second half . Not even close to grate films of the kind like Saving private Ryan and the Thin red line. You can watch it , especially for the unbelievable true story of heroism and faith that it has to tell you , but don't expect too much.
Mikra Anglia (2013)
An exceptional work of art
Mikra Aglia is a rare work of art . Pictures like paintings on a wall, music perfectly matched , excellency in acting and directing all in one film. Feelings of love and despair will reach your heart if you watch this film. The director slowly drags you to be part of the beautiful environment of the Greek island of Andros . In some dramatic scenes I felt like I was in the room witnessing the drama . A unique masterpiece. A film not to be missed from all those who seek quality cinema in a time when thousands of trash movies full of violence are produced ,mainly from the US, and consumed by societies increasing the real violence in them. I watched the film yesterday night and I will watch it again today . I watched more than one hundred films in the last six months and I felt the need to write a review only twice , for this film and for the "Best offer" of Giussepe Tornatore .
Thank you director ( Pantelis Voulgaris ) for the gift of watching this film .
