Golpe de Sol (2018)
Good but seriously annoying..
The film was good, intricate relationships with dramatic moments. A very arty film, scenic shots, sunset shots, long lingering abstracts.. all making for a good film...
The annoying part... No ending... It's one of those films that just cuts off and leaves you wondering what happened next.... Some people may like that kind of thing but if your not one of them be prepared.
The Pass (2016)
Intense and realistic.
A great film with some intense scenes. A realistic view of dealing with feelings you cannot control and don't necessarily want.
Once more Tovey demonstrates how multifaceted his skills are.
Cherry (2021)
Great if somewhat harrowing...
This is a great film with some very hard to watch moments that make it quite harrowing..
It definitely showcases Tom Holland's versatility as an actor.
As for the critics who low marked the film, I can only guess that they either have no empathy or that they had no understanding about the film's subject matter.
Querelle (1982)
Needs more than one viewing...
I personally feel I missed stuff within that film and that more things could become clearer with multiple viewings... But an interesting story and definitely deep in mind of someone coming to terms with being gay... Or at least that's my take.. lol.
Rialto (2019)
Relatable Chaacters
Has the story and the characters to be a great film, and whilst it's good and draws you in quickly, time flies and before you know it, it's finished... However, it doesn't finish. It has no conclusion, it's literally just left hanging...
Breach (2020)
The 4 is for the actors that tried to save it...
This film falls down from the beginning. The promo about the mechanic saving the day etc... How would you know he's a cleaner on the ship and any reference to him being a mechanic has been cut... The details are sketchy and when you do get any detail or history it's rushed. But I personally cannot blame the actors. They played their parts as they were written (poorly) and as they were directed, which felt to me like a PG tips monkey had come out of retirement to direct the film....
When all said an done good actors, rubbish film.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
It's a Sin alrighty... But not quite Cosmic...
It's a typical American, aliens are bad guys movie. Despite having the acting God, Bruce Willis, and a smattering of other named actors it was still stereotype blah. If you ok to just waste some time watch it, but if you've got other things to do, like clean the gutters, etc. Then it's time you won't get back.
Shookum Hills (2021)
So much promise... So little delivered...
To slow, not enough explanation, lots of dark mysterious shots to intensify the suspense/thrill that just slowed it down and ate time.
As for horror not sure what was horrific? No real gore, not much scare, incomplete zombies/aliens/insects/mutants... Insert what you will you'll never know....
Not something I'd recommend, even if your really bored watching dust settle would be more entertaining...
Somefarwhere (2011)
Nice body, crap film.
It was so drawn out with little to no action.
It was technically a bad film too the lighting was poor, the lines were crass, really the only good thing was the fact that the main character was shirtless for most of the film...
If you need a film to send you to sleep go for it otherwise move on...
L'acrobate (2019)
Intense, graphic, arty... Unfinished...
Was interesting. Seemingly dark and intense, graphic scenes that would shame. And filmed in a very arty way. Like a media studies student on final exam...
However it just stops... There's no end... I suppose it's art imitating life, but seriously I like my films to have an end...
Cut Snake (2014)
Surprisingly Good
The rating were quite bad but I thought quite good. The past was only referenced a few times and maybe a more in-depth look would have been better.
*Spoiler *
Some reviews compare it to Brokeback Mountain in Australia, aside from two men that sex it's not...
1313: Actor Slash Model (2011)
What did I watch...
This film has a great potential plot, Spurned actor seeks revenge by killing his rivals...
And that my friends is where great ends...
The script is marvelously dull and repetitive, with several actors having just two lines... hello and oops make that one line repeatedly...
The action is a continuous looping tour of a decadent Beverly Hills mansion..... Or at least four or five rooms of the mansion over and over and over again...
The acting is somewhat poor and wooden from most and overdone in others...
In a nutshell this film was massively disappointing and there are several more in the 1313 series to watch...
Sex Education (2019)
Utterly real and true and funny..
Netflix have hit the nail on the head again first with Sense8 that was captivating and intriguing and now with Sex Education, which has such a real vibe and feel, the characters are all people we knew in school, the scenarios, however bizarre they seem are relatable to unbelievable stuff that happened in our own school experiences. And it's all done in a way that's both hilariously funny and sincerely true.
The Mummy Rebirth (2019)
O... M... G...
That was the worst film ever, story was nonsensical, acting was wooden, special effects poor and it had no end.... ???
Absolutely awful film, save your time and energy. Stick to the Brendon Frasier Franchise or even the Tom Cruise one but leave this alone...
Triple Frontier (2019)
Great concept, Poor follow through.
The idea for the film is great, veterans, heists, gun fights etc. However, the following through and the actual film are poor.
Isaac's character has a good build up athough no real back ground.
Charlie's character comes of as a slightly whiny version of Jax Teller (SoA).
Affleck... So bad... And I like him usually, but wooden.
The other two... The pilot and the spare...
Moving on... Lots of plot fails and stupid errors. Continuity issues, factual issues etc
Personally, the director (if there was one...) Needs to go back to film school...
