The Express Way with Dulé Hill (2024)
Strikingly important.
So, this hit home for me. I used to work in the fine art sphere in an unfathomably wealthy county. I didn't care about the art, to be honest. Oil paintings of the same landscape over and over, selling to decorate second and third vacation homes for thousands of dollars each didn't matter to me.
This show that Dulé is doing, the work that these people are sharing, is the real story of why art matters. Art, creation, expression, cultural connection, is really the root of humanity. It doesn't seem important because it isn't housing or food or war, but it is what makes us feel. It is what makes us human. That is a primary need. Laughter, sharing, honesty, courage, togetherness - we need these things to thrive and grow and succeed, now more than ever. Otherwise, what is the point of the grind? Thanks for this.

Don't listen to the critics
I saw all the bad reviews, and was fully prepared to be disappointed. Instead, I found myself cracking up! The first big laugh from me was the trunk bit in episode 1. Critics hated the first season of The Office too, claiming it was cringy more than funny. That might be telling here. You do have to pay attention a little bit, as a lot of the funniest jokes are small quips, or set up earlier in the episode, or in someone's expression or something. I loved this season. Room for improvement? Sure, absolutely. But I am SO relieved. Give it a chance.
