Dragon (2006)
Worth it considering the budget.
It is enjoyable and entertaining if you go in knowing that it was made in a short period of time on a shoestring budget. The story, acting and dialogue are acceptable. The plotline although week at some points and slow in others, holds together and is complete. Sure, the CG and effects are not the same calibre as bigger budgets, but it is still worth watching. Give it a try. :-)
Malevolent (2018)
Much better than the rating listed
I went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The story although flawed, held together well enough. The ending was a bit weak, but not terrible. All and all, it was an enjoyable basic horror film.
The cinematography was awesome with Netflix in mind. It is amazing how almost all of the scenes are framed so that mouth of the speaker's dialogue is unseen. This makes it so much easier to deliver a very watchable film in many languages with less dubbing issues.
Even when squarely on the actor, they use several elements, like having the speaker tilt their head or use simple phases before cutting away to a different angle. Once you notice it, you will appreciate how much work went into keeping it function with these constraints. That alone made me appreciate this film.
Give it a try
Time Trap (2017)
Why the hate?
I generally don't write reviews, but this movie was actually quite enjoyable. I am not sure why so many negative reviews.
Yes, it is a little slow at the beginning, but the plot line follows and it makes sense. By the end, I was invested in the characters and wanted to see the final outcome. Perhaps it is not as polished as a big-budget movie, but I enjoyed it.
Give it a try.
Sled Dogs (2016)
Well presented, uncovering the hidden truth about Dog Sledding.
This is well-presented film demonstrating many of the inherent issues related to dog sledding.
More information continues to come out and people are becoming aware of the sham of this industry.
It is unfortunate that so many with a vested interest in maintaining the nostalgic myth of Dog Sledding are choosing to rate this film with one star. It is out of fear of the public waking up to the lie.
Take the time to watch Sled Dogs, it is worth it.
