In from the Cold (2022)
Disturbing in so many ways
I thought I was sitting down to watch a thriller espionage story, but by the end of the first episode it veered of towards weird sci-fi fantasy nonsense in order to drag the storyline out of a dead end. After Jenny is outed as a former Russian spy/assassin every character seems to become an emotionless hollowed out shell that faintly resembles something almost human, but not quite human enough. The only character worth watching is the former black hat hacker Chris (Charles Brice). *** Spoiler warning *** When Jenny's daughter dismembers a bird that broke its neck flying into a glass door, I really lost it with this series. There's something seriously wrong here.
Love Hard (2021)
Jimmy O. Yang is the best
Jimmy O. Yang is the best part of this movie. Nina Dobrev's character is the worst. She's horrible and mean. All the other characters are better than Dobrev's. I feel like the writers hated Nina Dobrev as much as I do. Watch this movie for Jimmy; he's funny and cute.
Farm to Fork to Love (2021)
No toques!?
The acting, directing, and the plot are pretty good, but one thing bothered me so much I couldn't get past it. The chefs never once wore a toque, a cap, or beard covering. It just creeped me out. What is a Christmas chef movie without toques?
Joy & Hope (2020)
Nice plot, mediocre acting
This movie has a fairly engaging plot, however most of the acting feels roughly equivalent to a high school play. Entertaining if you're looking for something that doesn't require your full attention.
