One Tree Hill (2003)
10/10
I'm addicted, this series is real beyond belief. Truth & lies, fake & real people some evil, some deranged but mostly characters who are normal. I cried & laughed all the way through this series which touched my heart over and over. A series that reveals different perspectives & the goodness & parallels of human behaviour, strengths & weaknesses. Its definitely about love, power, loss and grief in relationships.
I definitely agree that life is about the journey not the destination. The producers & director's of this series knew what they were doing.
A world back in 2003 - 2013 allows viewers to look back showing how much the world has changed and is different but not necessarily better in 2024. It was the longest series I've ever watched but I enjoy every bit.
Forst: Episode #1.6 (2024)
Detective Forst S1
The Pols are dramatic in this Dectective drama series. The ending wasn't clear, or it might be intended that we find out in the next series. I binge watched this series, an indication that it kept my intetest. I rate this TV sequel a lot higher and give it an 7.5-8.
I now want to know why when Forst returned to Olga in the last episode, to find Olga was gone & Horsts friend who looking after Olga was found murdered. It will be interesting to see if Horst returns to the police force in the next series and if he is reunited with Olga. Does Olda finally get to write her story. All the characters fit the series.
South Solitary (2010)
A heartfelt film with comedy
David Stratton reviewed this film 4/5, but I noticed that other worthy reviewers either gave a high or low score, nothing much in between.
This movie touched on my heart strings, and required genuine empathy to understand the characters. Set in in the early 1900's the setting was isolated and the wheather conditions were unpredictable and sometimes extreme effecting the work on the light house and the life styles. The characters, each had their own story which unravelled details for the viewers to pick up on nuances and interpret.
I enjoyed this film for its superb location, film making, acting and history of the lighthouse. The complex issues that arose between the characters were genuine and in keeping of the era and could be confronting. How the characters interacted and worked through the issues were both sad, moving and humourous in a very Australian kind of way (which could be perceived as black humour). This movie gives credit to Australian film making depicting that tender relationships can develop from the most difficult situations.
