Senses of Place (2004)
A great Vermont film
I just had the pleasure of seeing this film last night, and it is fantastic. For such a low budget, and shot by a group of college kids, this film has an amazing look and excellent acting. The two leads, Henry David Clarke and Rusty De Wees, in particular, give the best performances in the picture, while the supporting cast holds their own. Kate Fellows, the young Maggie Reed, gives a stunning performance for such a young actress. The story flows seamlessly and the viewer truly feels for the young governor hopeful, Paul Reed. This film is, without a doubt, one of the best independent films that I have ever seen. Kudos to Matthew Temple, Patrick McMahill, and Mike Harrington for such a superb screenplay and such unbelievable directing and editing.
