My Life with the Walter Boys: Thanksgiving (2023)
Lifetime Movie for Teenagers
Anyone over 14 will see right through the thin plots.
The parents are oblivious to what goes on in their home. The ex-starting high school football player has girls spend the night.
The mother is a veterinarian whose patients (or actually their owners) don't pay their bills, so they are struggling to get by. Even though they have this huge house and a bunch of land in Colorado.
The young girl who moves from New York to live with the family is immediately turned into a sexual attraction. The oldest son, who looks like he's 25, and is chased by all the girls in school, is smitten with her. As is one of the other boys.
Oh, one of the boys has a crush on another boy.
If you enjoy soapy shows with predictable plots, then this is the series for you.
Hijack (2023)
Waste of time
There's almost seven hours of my life wasted. I thought Apple TV produced quality shows. Big name star. What could go wrong? EVERYTHING.
The first episode set up what looked like a promising premise. Then the plot holes started and I was quickly swallowed by the stupidity of the plot. There were whole plot lines that were not necessary. I think they just needed to fill the seven hours so they could say it unfolded in real time.
Nothing makes sense in this series. People would not act like this. The bad men are comically bad they even bring in the stock market.
Please, don't waste your time on this drivel.
Murdoch Mysteries: The Accident (2017)
They made me cry
The writers and actors did a wonderful job making me care for a man that I hardly know.
When they declared their love for each other, I was screaming "kiss him" at the TV. The viewers were rewarded with a beautiful, tender kiss.
The mystery was also interesting and I knew the nurse was involved. She just came out of nowhere.
Life is short. Tell the people you love that you love them.
Ginny & Georgia: The Worst Betrayal Since Jordyn and Kylie (2021)
Watched the whole season and the show is uneven
I liked the first episode. Ginny was smart and confident. Then she turned into this horrible person. I realize that I'm not the prime demo for this show, but I prefer Georgia's story over Ginny's.
I know teens have sex but it seems to glorify and encourage unsafe sex. No protection at all or just using birth control pills. Hello, there are diseases out there. Use a damn condom!
In the final episode, it seems like Ginny is finally starting to understand her mom. She sees that all of the bad things she's done were done to protect her and she still runs away.
If this show has a second season, Ginny's character needs to change. Max is much more interesting. Focus more on her and change the title of the show! :)
ER: On the Beach (2002)
I needed a good cry
I remember watching this in 2002 and I didn't start crying until I heard the song Somewhere Over Rainbow. Just watched again in 2021 and I started crying when Mark was singing to his youngest daughter.
It evoked many more emotions now than it did back in 2002. I balled and it actually felt good.
Wonderful episode with fantastic writing and great imagery.
Saving Hope: Hope Never Dies (2017)
Disappointing finale...
We waited 5 seasons for them to get together and then then they kill off Charlie.
The episode was well done and it made me tear up, but it was still a disappointment. Another review mentioned that one of the previous episodes would have made a better finale.
Charlie's organs saved the lives of others, so that gives some solace. The timing of the scenes in the future and the final scene, make no sense. This show is a fantasy, so we'll chalk it up to that.
House of Cards: Chapter 73 (2018)
Just horrible! Read if you want to know how it ends.
Pregnant Claire (who is at least 50 years old) meets alone with Doug in the Oval Office. He uses the letter opener to threaten Claire by holding it against her throat. He slips and she's injured. Doug backs off and Claire turns the letter opener on him, stabbing him in the abdomen and then cradles his head while she suffocates him.
Unbelievably stupid ending to what was once a great series. I'm sorry I wasted my time and if this review saves even one person from wasting their time, my work is done.
Girlfriend's Day (2017)
Saturday Night Live Sketch
This might have been funny as a five minute SNL sketch, but it didn't work as a movie. Don't waste your time.
