Saanjhbatir Roopkathara (2002)
Great art work by Anjan Das.
Saanjhbathir Roopkathara is a low-budget Bengali film produced by Arindam Chaudhuri, and directed by Anjan Das.It is commendable to see both Arindam Chaudhuri and Anjan Das coming out together with such an awesome and meaningful movie. Saanjhbaatir is the story of a young girl who was born at the stroke of twilight to an artist father who named his daughter Saanjhbathir (twilight lamp).Saanjhbathir Roopkathara (aka Strokes and Silhouettes) is based on Joy Goswami's poetry, spins the tale of the girl, fondly called Tukun by her loving parents, who grows up in the world of strokes and colors, seeking the meaning in her life, getting entwined in relationships just like any other girl her age, oscillating between comprehension and confusion and trying to detach herself from the turmoil around. Though the silhouettes do disappear leaving her unfulfilled, ultimately it is the intense creativity that comes to rescue, helping her towards a greater understanding of life and reuniting her with her roots. Saanjhbaatir Roopkathara is an awesome example of great art work by Anjan Das and his team.
The Last Lear (2007)
One of the best movie of the decade.
The last lear is a kind of film that few people would actually want to watch.Even I had the same opinion about the film until one of my colleague told me about the film in such a way that I was intrigued to watch it.I never knew I could love this movie so much. The way Amitabh Bachchan has portrayed the role of Harry is superb. It just goes on to show the versatility of the great actor. He indeed is the real king of Bollywood.Rituparno Ghosh does not have to prove all the time why he is among the best in his work. The film is so good because of the beautiful combination of both these gentleman. Not only these two,the other casts of the film have also performed really well. All credits to the director who actually brought out the best in his actors. It is too good as a film and reviews alone won't bring out the real picture. It should be watched once to get the actual feel of the movie.
I Am 24 (2010)
Fantastic movie;fantastic performances.
I M 24 is a fantastic movie directed by Saurabh Shukla.A full on entertainment with some brilliant performances. It stars Rajat Kapoor and Ranveer Shorey along with Neha Dhupia and Manjari Fandis. Rajat Kapoor and Ranveer Shorey are brilliant and have managed to make the audience enjoy every bit of their performance.Though Neha Dhupia has less chance in this movie to show her acting skills but she is good. For me I M 24 is all about Rajat and Ranveer and their superb acting. The role of Shubendu,a 42years old man has been excellently played by Rajat Kapoor, who is an honest guy throughout his life until he meets Manjari. He is very well supported by Gagan, played by Ranveer who helps Shubendu to win over the young girl's heart. All this tricks and tips involves lot of lies and who better than Gagan to guide Shubendu. This is I M 24 and how everything turns out after so many lies.Watch it guys, you will love it.
Rok Sako To Rok Lo (2004)
A thorough entertainment
Rok sako to rok lo is an interesting film, released in 2004;the movie was produced by the Planman Motion pictures. The movie is really interesting and specially for the younger generations. It is always compared to jo jeeta wohi sikander. But it is only the concept that is similar. The rest is very different. In fact,it is completely different.Just watch the movie and you will see the difference between the two movies. The film stars Sunny Deol and Namrata Shirodkar is the narrator in the film.Yash Pandit and Manjarai Fadnis were among the fresh faces launched in the film and everyone gave their best in the film. The good acting added with the good music makes the movie a thorough entertainment to watch. This is the reason why I have watched it so many times and enjoy watching it till today!
