The Leftovers (2014)
Amazing acting and story
Easily in my top 3 shows I've ever watched. All of the actors involved are very, very good but I obviously have to single out Justin and Carrie - possibly the best acting I've ever seen on any tv show.
The show can take a while to kick in for some people (probably around episode 6 in season 1) although I was gripped right from the start. Most people agree though that seasons 2 & 3 were the absolute best though.
I've watched this show many, many times and will probably watch many more - its that good!
There is a self contained story with a great finish that should bring all of the emotions. The music definately helps too - such a good soundtrack (and score).
Highly, highly recommended!
Evil: A Is for Angel (2021)
Funny and creepy!
Another great episode. Season 2 is really firing on all cylinders. Leland (Emerson) and Lahti's (Sheryl) relationship hits a bit of a rocky patch (to say the least). Lots of humour again this week although is doesn't get in the way of the drama too. Lots of forward momentum on all the sub plots too. Loving the voice over at the end of each episode explaining the coming attractions. Easily my favourite series currently showing.
Evil: N Is for Night Terrors (2021)
Great start to season 2!
Probably my favourite episode to date! Re-watched the last ep of season 1 as its been that long and this opens up seconds later. Michael Emerson is great as usual but all the cast are outstanding really. Some great scary parts but I really loved the humour - I actually found this episode funnier than most supposed comedies. The humour is fitted in perfectly too - doesn't get in the way of the drama and unexpected when it happens. Its been a long wait for the 2nd season but its more than worth it!
My Name Is Earl: Buried Treasure (2007)
And Randy, and Joy!
Great episode, especially the parts told from Randy, Joy and Crabman's point if view (and they get their own titles too). Love all the different points of view.
Seuwiteuhom: Episode 7 (2020)
Great action!
Great action as usual (love the runner monster and the spider) - loads more monsters after a distinct lack of in the last few episodes. Great back story for Hyun-Su which explains a lot. And yet another great cliffhanger.
WandaVision: On a Very Special Episode... (2021)
Elizabeth Olsen's acting is phenomenal!
Loved Wanda in the movies but she didn't have very much screen time really. This series is really showcasing the character and the actress. Love the slow burn release of clues as to what is going on. Actually prefer this series to the movies. Loved the reveal at the end - hopefully this will continue into the next episode.
Kol (2020)
Great movie
Great movie - fantastically filmed with Great specia effects when the timeliness is changing. As others have said though turn off as soon a the credits start- I'm choosing to believe that last scene is at the cemetery! Still highly recommended though. Watch Alive too with the same actress.
Love and Monsters (2020)
Funny with a lot of heart
Really enjoyed this movie. Very good special effects and quite a few good actors. Dylan O'Brien & Jessica Henwick especially make very good leads. Lots of it played out differently than I thought it would. Would definitely like a sequel to this at some point.
Upload: The Sex Suit (2020)
Funny and touching!
Enjoyed every episode so far. Story is moving along well, some very funny scenes (especially the relative investigating the 'accident'. Robbie Amell is really good in the lead role too. Definately get a feel of Dead Like Me and The Good Place. Hope this series runs and runs.
Dream On: Nightmare on Bleecker Street (1992)
Hilarous
One of my favourite episodes of Dream On. Toby is such a good character and this is a good spotlight on her. Some very good murder scenes especially the pen! 😀
Mr. Mercedes: Willow Lake (2017)
Shocking ending!
Great episode - more backstory filled in on the killer, a funeral and an explosive finish!
Inside No. 9: The Stakeout (2020)
Another top episode!
Series 5 has been possibly the best overall - not a dull episode. It's great to see them both acting against each other. Possibly the best episode this series, so well written and properly creepy especially as the episode wore on. Try not to read spoilers for this episode - as usual I didn't have a clue where it was going. Such a great series!
9-1-1: Chimney Begins (2019)
Spotlight on Chim
Very good flashback episode showing how Howie joined the 118. Not just a rehash of Hen's episode either. Actually tied in well with the end of the last episode. Great music too.
Barry: The Audition (2019)
Out of this world acting again
Great comedy as usual but a fair bit of tension too. The last 5 minutes are full of tension - what a cliffhanger! Really not sure which way this is going - hope its not another death...
Barry: ronny/lily (2019)
Another 10 out of 10 episode!
What did I just watch. That was hilarious. Camera work was outstanding. Loved the kid - she'd make a good extra in a vampire movie :) I thought the last episode went in an unexpected direction but this topped it by far. I'll be recommending this show to everyone I know.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Passion (1998)
Great showcase for Jenny
One of my favourite episodes of Buffy even if one of my fave characters gets killed off. Great music, camera work, lots of tension.
The Leftovers: Guest (2014)
What an amazing actress Carrie is!
This episode is when I really started to love The Leftovers. Carrie Coon is so so good in it. I must have watched the scene with the hug over 20 times. Story, acting is top notch as usual! This episode is mainly a spotlight on Nora.
I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore. (2017)
Good off beat film
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Went in ways I didn't expect. Acting was good and even liked how it ended. Would recommend.
The Happening (2008)
So so bad!
Possibly my all time worse film. I do actually like most of the actors in other films so I can only assume it's the director. I can't go back and watch any of his films now as it just reminds me of wasting part of my life on this film. The story and acting is absolutely atrocious. Please let me forget I ever watched it one day! Update April 2020 - still haven't forgotten this film and still hate it with a passion!
Barry: What?! (2019)
Great ending!
What an episode. I was convinced there were only 2 possible outcomes from the ending - but the writers thought of a 3rd! Wow! Bill Hader acted the hell out of every scene too. Probably the best episode so far.
The Wonder Years: On the Spot (1989)
All the feels!
Love this episode! Winnie, Kevin and Paul all go for the school play (Our Town) and Winnie gets a main part. Have your tissues ready as its very emotional! Paul is really funny too being in charge of the lighting.
