Exit Humanity (2011)
Great film, ambitious considering the budget
Even with the budget constraints this film is going to be a classic for the genre. It's something new which is rare but I think shows that the genre isn't tapped out. I love the "look" of this film. If you saw "Stakeland" or "The Road" then you will as well. It's got a good script and the feel of a much bigger budget movie. What these guys managed to accomplish with the limits they had is truly great. Keep in mind that I am a BIG fan of the genre and if you are and love something original, then you'll be very glad you saw this movie. I don't get how people rated this as low as they did. It's totally unfair if your comparing this to other similar genre movies out there. This movie is at least a 6 or 7 on it's own and higher for the genre. It's original, interesting, has great pacing and an "actual" story. The actors are great. Ms. Wallace is fantastic.
Crimson (2011)
Crimson is worth a watch for fans of the genre
OK... This movie isn't quite what i was expecting from the info about it being a post apocalyptic world with a "Little Red Riding Hood" spin/take. I get why they said that about little red and so will you but it really has nothing to do with the fairy tale.
This is a short, shot with a really small budget and you can tell. That doesn't always mean the short film will suck but this could have been shorter and shot steadier. A tri pod mounted camera should be in your budget no matter how small it is.
The idea is sound and I'd love to see this re-shot with better actors and a better script but with the original concept. It could have been taken to a great place but was only briefly explored.
I won't spoil anything by talking directly about the plot though I would say that fans of the genre have probably watched a lot , lot worse than this. So watch if your into this.... IF not? skip it.
