Swan Song (I) (2021)

overdramatized
25 December 2023
Thats a perfect sci-fi scenario, very nice idea, lost inside a deep drama.

If you enjoy the drama aspect of some movies, more than the sci-fi ideas, then this movie is for you. If you want to watch a sci-fi movie plain and simple, then you may be disappointed.

It's set in the future but it's not science fiction. It is a moral dilemma about love.

The acting is really good. The slow roll, slow music, deep scenes, drags you along the drama aspect of the movie in a nice way. Maybe it is a bit too long, maybe it tries too hard to make you "feel", but overall it is a movie worth watching. Mahershala Ali was incredible on both of this "main roles"

such a disappointment. Huge budget but looks like a super low budget film written in 2 days

I love sci-fi movies. I love AI movies. And the premise seemed promising. Instead, it is a childish movie, for pre-teens who enjoy stuff like transformers.

Very poorly developed, and a million strange things that distracts you from the plot.

In the future there are fortresses that can float, boats that can hover above water, futuristic guns, but the cars are from the 80s, all the music is from the 70s and the tv shows are black and white. The TVs are retro, small, rounded, with huge bezels.

If there are robots that can look perfectly alike a human, perfect face, perfect expressions, will it be so hard to have a perfect back of the head instead of a huge hole?

Is it necessary for robots to eat, drink, wear clothes, cry, sit casually with one foot on the couch and one elbow on the back like a tired human being?

Some robots speak perfectly, but some robots speak with the worst robotic voice, or don't speak at all and just grunt with weird sound effects like a transformer or the R2D2.

Devices that listen to speech and translate to another language, already exist. And are tiny. I bet in the future there will be the size of a pen. But no. It has to be a huge device with a huge microphone on top of it like a movie from 1990 would suggest.

And is it necessary for a million sound effects when anything happens? Someone touches a screen? Sound effect. A robot moves his head? Sound effect. A car goes into drive? Sound effect. Someone types in a keyboard? Sound effect. Someone is looking through binoculars? Electronic sounds for no reason. Someone inserts a usb stick in the drive? Electronic sounds again. An rpg flying? Electronic sound effects of course. Beeps everywhere and for no reason at all. It was cool 50 years ago but not today.

Jets with no blades that sound like a helicopter, and a secret switch hidden in a ton of statues, that the main character figures out in a second without even trying. Of course you had to turn the statue on the right clockwise, it was super obvious.

And when someone is shot, looks at the hole in his body, and then collapses, is also from a movie from 1970. (someone is obsessed with the 70s maybe?)

I love sci-fi movies because usually I am impressed with the plot and the clever way they make me stick to the screen. This movie had zero plot only sound effects and explosions.

if you like movies with a plot, there isn't one

An extremely long, extravagant movie, with a huge budget, a million actors, but no lead role, and no script.

Four sub-plots, four stories of four different people trying their luck in the industry. Four stories that have no end and no connection to each other and none of them is worth mentioning. An absolute madness of how people party, work, succeed or fail on their lives. But you have no connection to a main character as there isn't one, and no one has an interesting story worth remembering or rewatching.

I rate movies that I would never rewatch lower than 5.

If you see it as a documentary of an era-by-era cinema history, maybe you should try watching it. But if you like movies with a plot, there isn't one.

That is a typical life of a typical family. Nothing intresting for us to see. A plotless movie, with nothing to teach is or excite us or keep us intrested. Until the last second I was wondering what the plot is. But then it ended. A typical marriage, a typical family, with its ups and downs. All filmed in storage rooms and trailers. Is this really what the oscars are about? A reality show?

Its a one man show

Its a one man show and his acting is mind blowing. The movie is not a comedy. Its a dark comedy horror film with an amazingly psychotic plot. Really exceeded expectations since I just watched it because I wanted to see a comedy with Ryan Reynolds.

Clickbait title

Warning: Spoilers
That movie has nothing to do with metal, or music, or with the genre "music" as stated by imdb. It is a pointless drama story, that nobody can relate to, about a guy who when faced with a medical problem, instead of seeking medical attention, went to join a community that he didn't know what it was, and did nothing to help him with his problem. His life in the community is the biggest part of the movie, but somehow had nothing to do with the movie. Surprisingly, whether it helped him or not in any way, is a total mystery, as the story did not tell us anything about the benefits he acquired from that. This community was recommended by a friend, like the first thing you do when a friend says he's gone deaf, is recommending a deaf community instead of speaking to some doctors to try to first figure his condition out. The acting, the picture and the directing is decent, so if you like sad drama movies with no plot, maybe you should give it a go. But if you are in a mood of watching a movie about a drummer or musicians in general, you should instead try a movie that actually has something to do with music

Not a Comedy
26 February 2013
This is not a comedy as stated. This is not even a Drama-Comedy. This is a depressed drama of how a family can turn out through financial and relationship problems. And certainly IS NOT a "knocked up sequel" as it has absolutely nothing to do with that movie. The actors are great but they are not good enough to turn this meaningless clueless script around. I usually hate Comedy-Dramas because these two genres are absolute opposites. When you want to see something easy going, to have a bit of laugh and two hours of entertainment with a smile on your face at the end, you definitely should not watch that depressing drama movie. There are other movies too written by bachelors trying to state that marriage is hell, but without the comedy element to it, its just pointless
