Raskens (1976)

A masterpiece.

IMDb does not allow reviews in languages other than English, so I rewrote this review in English.

It is completely incomprehensible how anyone could give this film anything other than a 10. Raskens is one of Vilhelm Mobergs two greatest works. It was the first book he wrote, when he was 29 years old. Raskens is among the greatest works of world literature, and in my opinion the absolutely greatest Swedish novel ever written. With the possible exception of Moberg's Emigrant series.

The story describes the Swedish soul. What is important for Swedes and how Swedes lived, and where the Swedish nation came from.

The film itself is a masterpiece, which is as memorable as the book.
