Last Stop Larrimah (2023)
Fargo in Aussie
This was great. They way the story is told, will keep you guessing. Guessing which side you're on. They cinematography is really well excecuted and the line up of real life characters is unbeliveable. A gem for the true crime audiences out there. But it also tells the tale of humans- humans with too much time on their hands, living in the middle of nowhere, drinking the day away, just being.
I kind of want to go visit the town now, that i feel like i know everybody there. Meet the colorful characters, have a beer, and talk about what REALLY happened that night Paddy went missing. Great, great documentary.
Werewolf by Night (2022)
Brilliant direction.
This was hands down GREAT!
Could've been a bit longer, but it's no biggie. The direction and camera-settings were breathtaking, making each framing an ode to the old Universal black and white monster movies.
I'm not entirely sure why the plot unfolds the way it does, but i like that not everything is over explained or given in tedious explanatory dialogue. There's a specific scene in the ending that is a bit experimental when the black and white film turns to color. I guess it's celebrating the characters overcoming their obstacles, or whatever. It's wonderful strange, without being arthouse nonsense.
The acting is great. Especially Harriet Sansom Harris steals the show. I would love to see more from this director.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
The villains are EVIL!!!
This series is really great. But what i found i've missed the most in previous spinoff series, are evil villains who will kill, maim and murder their way to success. Enter Kenobi villains!
These villains are the best that the universe has to offer, and i'm just overly joyed by the violence and nasy sith business in this series.
Kudos to writers!
The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
Emmy award potential
This was an episode of very highly Emmy award potentiale. The camera settings, the action, the adultness of the drama. Everthing was in place.
Rosario makes a perfect Ahosoka post + 20 years. The action was tight and the entire thing was balanced on the blade of a knife, leaving you wanting more and yet satisfied.
This is, what Star Wars was ment to become. Beautifully directed, shoot and acted.
Primal: Coven of the Damned (2020)
Magic breaks the prehistoric universe.
This was under not circumstances a bad episode. Extremely well written, crafted and directed. But i felt that the magic takes us out of the prehistoric universe and becomes a bit too fantasy.
The premise of Spear and fangs setting, is an vast realistic (that we know of) prehistoric world. Not a magical kingdom where everything is possible.
Its great when the series upscale dinosaurs, spiders and snakes etc. but introducing magic took me a bit out of the story.
