The Orville: Future Unknown (2022)
Season 3, Episode 10
10/10
Wrapping up?
4 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a very nice episode that wrapped up the Isaac/Claire SL. I like that they showed the Kaylon learning about human culture and participating in the events. I get why Lysella felt the way she felt and understood completely what Kelly was trying to explain to her.

I thought it was an excellent episode.

Now, I truly hope they renew this series. It's one of the best out there today and Seth has done an incredible job in honoring the ST franchise. And I love that he's injected his own brand of humor. I know he's working on something new but we Orville fans don't want to miss out on new stories and adventures.

I guess we'll see.

You know, I know that Amanda has "evolved" in her years with SVU, but this episode highlighted the fact that she really wasn't a nice person. Her treatment of Nick, trying to provoke him, was downright awful. I never quite liked her and even now, I don't really enjoy when she's onscreen.

Truly, an SVU detective is trying to provoke a fellow detective to...what? Hit her? Scream at her?

And what is with her excusing DV???? She's in the wrong unit if that's how she really feels. "He learned his lesson". No, sweetie, that's not how abuse works. Abusers don't "learn their lesson".

Melancholia (2011)

Not sure what I just watched.

Warning: Spoilers
I gave it a five because I thought it was beautifully shot. However.... I have no clue what the takeaway was supposed to be.

I mean, weird wedding that falls apart, a family relationship that's even weirder and a planet that is supposed to "fly by" but instead turns around and decimates Earth. As far as I can tell, there's no moral, no cautionary tale, just....whatever that was.

Torchwood: Something Borrowed (2008)
Season 2, Episode 9

Best Line of the show
15 January 2022
Of all the dialog in the episode, this is the best line- Ianto: that's what I love about Torchwood. By day you're chasing the scum of the universe; come midnight you're the wedding fairy.

Have to ask: what is it about Jack that you never know what's going on with him? Rhys, however, stole the show. I read somewhere that one of the writers said that Rhys was the hero of the show and he was so right. Watching Rhys defend Gwen was so sweet.

I love this show.
