Will Trent (2023)
Terrible Casting
The casting is critical and actually owed to the people who have invested their time and money reading Slaughter's books over many years, envisioning the character as she'd written them. It's extremely disappointing to have the main characters not fit their profiles as depicted in the books. I liked those characters... such a missed opportunity on Slaughter's part. Sad. Will should be a gangly, tall, slim guy and Faith isn't at all portrayed as she's written. This TV version is not at all created for Slaughter's dedicated fans. It's a sell out with terrible acting. I find myself questioning Slaughter's talents from the get go considering she's the executive producer of this giant, painful burp.
The Girl from Plainville (2022)
Unexpected
Chloe, Chloe! From Gummo to insanely brilliant in this role! You've maneuvered a brave resume which I believe has suited you perfectly. Love your quiet confidence. Love the young man who plays CoCo! What a gem!! Such a brilliant show. A little vibrato but very well done.
The Affair (2014)
Fell apart: Bad writing but great cast
This shows started out beautifully. The cinematography, the cast, well developed characters... Everything started out with so much luster. It was clear that they were going to be repercussions of this is fair and that the show was said to be sort of a fall out masterpiece of what an affair can do to people. Please forgive me for not being able to recite the actors who portrayed the characters offhand but the people who played Allison Noah Helen and Cole performed ask her worthy. Whitney the daughter was equally so. Mom and dad of Helen holy moly I couldn't have dislike a couple more than I dislike them. Now see that's the brilliance. The show could have ended in three series as far as I'm concerned. It seems like the riders changed and the mission of the show changed completely I suppose for a midwesterner I felt completely out of touch with the east and west coast politics and that was really frustrating but a little bit understandable because people are pretty political and those ends of the world. I honestly thought that this was pinging so much that it brought down the storyline of these great characters. I understand that Noah Hass to have us do justice but I also think that everybody involved in his life all adults anyway are subject to some guilt, which I think they went through but everyone was so goddamn snobby in the end. I don't always expect a rainbow ending but I did feel like the characters could've been a little bit more respected. This cast was amazing! Whole Johnny thing was completely weird. I wish there was another way to find out Alison's demise. It just didn't feel right. That said I stayed and watch the whole thing and don't totally regret it but I was waiting eagerly for the end.
