Great Film -- A Unique Indie Thriller!
17 February 2012
I truly appreciated the details of this movie from beginning to end. It's incredible how engaged I found myself throughout every scene. I had low expectations before watching this, simply because I had never heard of it before. For me, the whole trapped in the woods with killers thing will never get tired, as long as there are films like this with original writing and genius plot twists. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it stars Eric Roberts, a truly brilliant and often haunting actor. The rest of the cast was surprisingly great. Their performances were emotional and carried exceptional depth, especially for a movie in this genre. The music, editing and tempo were all spot on as well. The only reason I give an 8/10 is to motivate the producers to get working on a sequel!

Bongwater (1998)

I love this movie!

It seems like most of the other reviews are hit or miss. That's okay -- I LOVE it! In fact, everyone I show it to also loves it. Contrary to popular belief, you don't even need to be under the influence of anything to enjoy a classic like 'Bong Water' although I'm sure it doesn't hurt. The music, writing and production quality are good but the cast is the real show- stopper for me. It's a hilarious opportunity to see some of my favorite stars in a role you might not normally expect. You've got Luke Wilson, Jack Black, Andy Dick, Brittany Murphy, Jamie Kennedy, Scoot Caan and Kyle Gass together on one screen, in a movie about pot. I highly recommend giving this movie a chance!

Loved it!

I'm a huge Andy Dick fan so you can imagine my excitement to hear of this movie. My expectations we actually quite low because I assumed it would be one of those high school spoof type films. But no, it's hilarious! Andy Dick is brilliant and the rest of the cast is spot on. I found the writing and storyline to be unique and wonderfully smart. Although the characters are goofy and spend a majority of the film as parodies of themselves, you actually grow attached to them. Once the end credits hit the screen, I wanted more! Highly recommended -- must see for any fan of comedy, football, Andy Dick or entertainment in general!

In the Drink (2010–2011)

An Indie Treasure
8 January 2012
I was lucky enough to catch this movie at the LA Film Festival and was truly impressed. It's essentially 4 short stories being told at a local dive bar that all intersect brilliantly. The performances were stellar, the cinematography was top notch and the overall production value was incredible. After doing some research today on where I could see "In the Drink" again, I discovered one of the segments ("An Evil Town") won best short at Cannes and deservingly so! Unfortunately, I also see they may have some rights issues preventing them from releasing it at this time. I highly recommend this title to any indie film fans, fans of Bukowski or just lovers of interesting cinema. Fingers crossed on future distribution!

A Short & Sweet... Short

I was very impressed with the production quality of this romantic comedy right off the bat. The opening title sequence was perfect and set the tone for the entire film without dragging on gratuitously as many shorts tend to do. The camera work is perfect, especially for a student film. Audio and visual quality were pristine. Two thumbs up on casting. Brianna Wiens was brilliant. The performances by the entire cast were spot on and I'm convinced we'll be seeing at least a couple of them A LOT more in the future. I also enjoyed the music throughout. It was appropriate without overpowering the action on screen. This is a humorous, fun little film with a great payoff at the end - highly recommended, for sure!

Haggard (2003 Video)

Why is this movie getting the shaft in reviews?
13 January 2004
I personally found the film to be great. I had it on pre-order for a month and watched it twice the day I got it in the mail, and several time since.. Yes, the time lapses may be a bit much, but the rest of the movie clearly compensates for it. All amature cast, yet the acting was right on for each part. The plot itself is just... haggard! There's no other way to describe it. Who makes a movie about someone getting f**gered!??? BAM, thats who. Genius. Simply genius. Two thumbs up. I would be honored to work with him any day, any time, on any thing.
