Star Trek: Picard: Watcher (2022)
Huge disgusting social commentary
I literally had the thought two episodes ago, "How can Picard be so good and Star Trek: Burnam be so awful?"
And then S2:E4 happened. I'm throwing up in my mouth.
Groveling Picard, over-acting indignant Rafi, all the mean horrible white people ruining Earth...
I'm close to giving up on this garbage.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
The Debbie Downers need to chill
People.
It's a movie based on a Disney theme ride.
Relax.
You're not getting an Academy Award winning epic story with brilliant plot and acting. You're getting a fun movie on the scale of the Disney Jungle Cruise.
So, enjoy, eat some good popcorn and drink some soda, and forget about Covid-19 and our upside down political climate for two hours...all the negativity will still be there when the movie ends. Just enjoy.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Decent Flick- even with the drama and cliches
Cool concept, super scary aliens.
Ridiculous "dilemma" with the time paradox. Why there is even a concern about "leaving" her in the future is just stupid. He's going back to his 9 year old daughter before the war starts, with the toxin. Win win!
That was pretty ridiculous, but other than that, good movie.
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
Be patient...great story!!
Sean Penn was utterly amazing in this!! He was so good!!
Also good to see Ioan Gruffod, though not, in my opinion, his best character.
Fascinating story, nice change to the garbage that is so prolific.
Typical idiot Hollywood critics who grind their axes...ignore them...this is worth it.
The Dig (2021)
Nice little relaxing film
Great story, well acted. A nice break from so much crap these studios are cranking out. Very likable actors, and a subtle, understated story.
Good for a quiet night in.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Great Story - totally unlikeable characters
I love the story arc of this series, but there has never been a more face-punchable crew in the history of space exploration.
It really tells the story when the crew reunited in a dramatic time-jump hugfest, and it didn't even elicit the slightest emotional response. Not a blip. The sentimental speeches are such groaners....agree, these dialogue writers are terrible.
Good story, though.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Kinda cliche, but ok
Too many questions at the end. The movie felt like eating sugar free ice cream...it looks good and feels like you're eating ice cream, but you're just left wanting when you're done.
Love the idea, but I need more closure. I want to have an emotional reaction to the ending.
Colony (2016)
Somebody Pick This Up!!
Wow! Wow!
What a shame this got nixed. Great story line, likable characters...dang it! It's worth the watch if you like sci fi alien invasion stories...way bette than the new War of the Worlds, which really crapped out in the second half of the season. Colony just keeps getting better!!
IO (2019)
Suckered...
"When you tell a story, here's a good idea: HAVE A POINT!"
This was a nothing sandwich. A huge slab of nothing wedged between a slice of apocalyptic earth and a slice of space exploration, seasoned with metaphysical gobbledygook.
