Emelie (2015)
Emelie is a Must Watch!!
Emelie marks a thrilling feature debut for Director Michael Thelin. The film has you on the edge of your seat from the very first frame. Emelie also features several outstanding performances, led by Sarah Bolger, who plays the eponymous role.
Overall, the film operates as more of a slow burn than an outright horror film. While many films in the genre have taken to "jump scares," Emelie is unafraid to keep the camera rolling and let your imagination do the rest. Thelin skillfully engages the eye, and the mind, while developing unique characters that we genuinely care about. I highly recommend this film: it is bound to bring many new fans to thriller genre.
Gen RX (2014)
My Review of Gen RX
I just watched this film with my brother and we were both astounded by it's quality. The story is totally compelling and we were left wanting more. SPOILER ALERT *** the film ends on a cliffhanger and we both could not stop talking about all the places the story might go. For an 8-minute short, this film definitely packs a punch, touching upon several socially relevant issues of our day and age (government control, freedom of speech, health care, etc.). The characters and story are rich, and the production succeeds across the board. I would love to see this short film developed further into a feature-length, or even a mini-series, if possible. There's plenty of potential.
