The Mandalorian (2019)
So good, for a bit. Now, oh dear.
This show renewed my love for star wars when it began. I would watch it with my 12 year old son and we enjoyed it so much give or take a couple of dodgy episodes. Overall the first 2 seasons were brilliant.
We waited eagerly for this 3rd season and were greeted with... this goofy nonsense.
It's like, Boba Fett. Boba was this bad ass cool bounty hunter. Disney thought, people love Boba Fett, let's bring him back from the sarlacc pit (still don't know how he went in thin and came out, well, larger) make him take the helmet off so we really get to see his human side and have dreams in the bacta tank. That show was goofy as heck and the Mandalorian episodes in it were far better. Except, for the mechanic scenes. No harm to the actress, but that character is terrible like an extra on sesame street.
Now season 3 is like Boba Fett. Flapping about like that massive gatorterrapin thing, snaping out trying to bite a story of any kind.
What in God's name are those Cape robots following Carl Weathers about? The doozers from Fragle Rock also annoyed, and Dinn's crappie little space ship. Oh, and Grogu. He did a Yoda front flip.
This show was a solid 9 but not any more.
Açela (2020)
Taleteller Old man!
How could this have been made in 2020?
5 stars is enough just for the unintended humour of it. Loooonnngg walks, dancing alien nutjob and odd troll type woman.
Its like an extended Tim and Eric animation.
Please leave your brain in the kitchen when watching.
Thirteen (2016)
Grange hill style drama.
Ok, I've just watched two episodes. That's totally enough for me thank you very much. Ivy the 'victim' is pretty much treated like dirt by the police. The female DC is practically a vampire with no social skills. And the mother likes to make tea and cocoa. My hair not so much stood on end but I think I could feel it growing as I watched.
