The Fall (2013)
Great show with glaring plot holes
This is a well written and addictively good thriller- but the mistakes are driving me a bit nuts. Why didn't they look for Rose in the house she was being held sooner? Cops said they'd check it at least a day or two before they did. Why on earth was Paul allowed to the wooded area where they found Rose at all? And if he had to go to direct them why was he handcuffed to a man so much smaller than him? If Paul hadn't been shot he surely might have overcome Tom. Why wasn't Paul guarded while in the hospital? Why on earth is Rose's hospital bed so close to his? Why didn't Stella chase Paul's car when it pulled onto the site they were searching, cut the lights and backed up? This show is amazing but these silly plot holes are distracting.
Down to the Bone (2004)
Engaging movie
I watched this movie today after hearing an interview with the producer about her new movie Winter's Bones, which I can't wait to see. Down to the Bone started a bit on the choppy side and I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it. About 30 minutes in I was hooked. Vera Farmiga's acting is excellent and the supporting characters were all at least good. Vera has a certain quality that makes it hard to turn your eyes away from her,and interested in everything her character says and does. The soundtrack is great. The movie captured my attention for the last hour or so and as an earlier review said it did not glamorize the very real struggle of trying to recover from drug addiction.
