The Killing (2011)
It's good- worth watching
It's a good show, albeit a bit slow moving but I think that's the 'point'.
The investigation plods on over and slowly uncovers the deep layers.
I like the characters- especially Sarah Linden and the character of Rosie's father Mitch.
Linden for reasons that actually you might not like her or get a bit annoyed with her or want to shake her sometimes BUT it just proves how good the actress is! I have not seen a character like hers on TV before.
Series one is just finishing up on UK TV so will be interesting to see Series Two.
For comparisons with Twin Peaks- I do get that. It has that small town, shadowy eerie feel to it. It's always raining!! Just makes it even more bleak and adds to affect which is what they were intending.
Dude, Where's My Car? (2000)
I understand what it is - its just not funny
I know, I know. I get it! BUT it really is awful. Sorry. I understand funny films like that but that is a bad one. It starts off as bad but funny and then acceptably bad but then it tangents off into goodness knows what. It's crammed with all sorts of odd things. I know everyone has to start somewhere and i don't knock Ashton or anyone else for being IN the film. There are lots of guy humour films - and maybe this appeals to some guys and girls but i wouldn't include this in the bumper pack of funny feel good films.
Its not funny- just sort of cringe worthy and made my 16 year old brother go huh? How was that made into a film? On a positive note - it probably stemmed off a whole load of noughties 'what happened to us last night because we were so wasted and can't remember' films.
Remember Me (2010)
Go see it
I have no idea why people/critics are panning this film. Were we watching the SAME film???
Rob is fantastic in this. He shows true depth, feeling and understanding of this character. The female lead is refreshing.
The film is about love/relationships and family. NOT a romantic comedy so why anyone would complain that it didn't tick the boxes of some pointless romcon i don't know. It never said it WAS a romantic comedy!!! The ending is apt and beautifully done. It wasn't tacky in any shape or form. I commend Rob in choosing to do this film.
Well done mate.
