Andover (2017)
Awful, I tried by only lasted half an hour
At the time of writing, the score is 9.2 of 10. I should have known better, no movie ever scores that high, especially one with the plot described on IMDB at the time of writing. But it sounded at least as though it would be half interesting, and I couldn't have imagined that a faked score could be so high and not have some redeeming features. But alas, awful. I fast-forwarded through the last two thirds of the movie, and even watching in 8x speed, I felt I was wasting my life.
Acting was awful, plot was awful, direction awful, this site's credibility of recent times: AWFUL.
Inconceivable (2017)
Definitely under 5 starts, reviews misleading
Slow, poorly directed, stilted acting. I watched because several reviews said the twist at the end made up for the poor movie. I've now finished watching, and was the twist that there was no twist?
Don't waste your time. I should give it a one, but I have seen worse movies. It had something that made me kept watching, but perhaps that was simply the misleading reviews that had me waiting for something worth watching.
Girl on the Edge (2015)
Don't bother
I watch a lot of movies. I write very few reviews.
I have a rule not to watch anything below 5.5 rating on IMDb and make few exceptions.
Anything above a 7, and I get excited. The rating for this excuse for entertainment was 7.4 at time of writing. I've watched a lot of movies. This is not a 7.4, hence I'm writing this review to inform you that it's one of about 20 movies I've stopped without watching, and the only one rated on IMDb so highly.
C-grade cinema at it's finest. Wasted 20 minutes on a movie that should almost certainly be below my 5.5 cut off line.
RED (2010)
Lame. When will I learn not to trust IMDb ratings?
Really, 8/10 after almost 40 votes? Was I watching the same movie, or is this perhaps what an American audience finds entertaining.
I see it referred to as a romantic action comedy.
As a comedy, it was barely funny. Perhaps laughable, but nor funny.
As a romance, c'mon. Old people?! Romantic? As an action. There was one cool scene where Bruce wills slips out of a moving car to shoot up another moving car, and other than that is was bang bang bang, guns and flames. Lame action.
If you want to waste two hours, watch Red. If you are easily entertained, watch Red. If you are anything like the majority of reviewers, watch Red. If you like something with a little substance, don't bother.
I really give IMDb ratings too much credit.
