Long Day's Journey Into Night (1962)
I'm a first time viewer
I am a firm believer that if you watch several movies a week that you should make certain that one of those movies is black and white. It simply does the heart good.
I was not planning to watch this movie - I was surfing and came upon it and it was just at the point where they were starting the movie. I didn't even miss the before movie commerical! The movie immediately reminds me of one of those big plantation movies with Bette Davis. I don't know why exactly other than they are great movies, filled with drama, and wonderfully acted. This is also incidentally how I feel about this movie -- wonderfully acted, filled with drama, and if you are 45 or over it just may hit ya where ya live! Enjoy! I did.
Out for Blood (2004)
Good Movie -- Not What You Expect ! ! !
I landed on this movie by mistake actually, started watching because the remote wasn't near me and I had things on my lap that prevented me from getting up to change the channel. I'm glad I didn't ... here's why:
For die hard vampire fans or horror flick fans this may be too light weight for you, but since I'm not a follower of the genre that would be up to you. This film is a really good film in my opinion. I kept watching at first because I wanted to see Kevin Dillion -- who turns out to be really quite good. I think the movie is supposed to be scary, but it seems to be done tongue in cheek -- I found myself laughing at times which is good for me since I'm not real into being scared myself. So, I enjoyed this about the movie. The storyline had a few turns that were unexpected and definitely kept me watching.
So, I'd say it's a keeper. Whether for a comedy for a horror flick I'm not quite sure which to put it under. And the funny thing is I say that in a good way. It was quite enjoyable and I'd even say that I'd watch it again. I hope more people post opinions so I can come back and read what others had to say about the movie. Enjoy - I hope.
Cabin by the Lake (2000)
It is watchable! ! !
As I sit here watching Cabin by the Lake for the second time I thought I would add my comment. No, it's not Oscar material. But, it does keep you interested and hey, it's got Judd Nelson. It is definitely not a feel good movie -- more SciFi. Like my title says: it's watchable, and I do think that my second viewing will be my last!
