Rolie Polie Olie (1998)
Good show for children
I don't understand the many bad comments about this show. the show is excellent for small children, and my daughter (3 years old) loves this show.
I think the authors of the negative comments forget that this is a simple children's show for ages 2-5. It is not meant to win any artistic awards, nor was it meant for teens/adults.
While this isn't exactly the highest quality animation show, I've seen far worse, and the world setting is cute and simplistic, as it should be in a children's show.
I give this show an 9 out of 10 because my daughter loves it.
Liar, Liar (1993)
Lies or not? *SPOILERS*
in the beginning of the movie, Kelly Farrow is profusely spanked by her father for teasing her younger sister. When Kelly talks to her friend about it, she says that she knows how to teach him a lesson, and she tells her teacher that her father is abusing her sexually. This sets the mood for the rest of the movie, where no one in her family believes her, and her younger sister hates her for breaking up the family.
As a viewer, at first, you're shocked that the girl would say something as serious as that to get back at her father for a spanking. but as the movie progresses, you understand that the sexual abuse is real, and that almost everyone is against the girl and calls her a liar. Even her best friend abandons her.
The movie is a pearl within the genre, and it's a good movie to shock you, and make you think twice about the world we live in.
X-Men (2000)
Spring-board to success.
I gave this movie a ten.. this ten is based on many grounds. I will start with the musical side of the movie, which I found to be perfect for every scene involving the music. The score to this film if well worth buying as a soundtrack. Another major factor in giving this movie a ten, was the casting. I have looked over many of the comics and stills fromt he cartoon to figure out what they looked like. And I must say that I found the casting thorough and impressive. I think the only character in this movie who didn't look like the original comic-character was that of Toad, but his make-up and outfit was well put together and made disgusting, yet sexy in some way. I've heard many a complaint about the original comic-costumes not being used, but I figured that if the original dress-code had been followed, it would have ridiculed the movie. To put out a specific hurray to the cast, then it would have to be two characters in particular. Patrick Stewart as Prof. Charles Xavier, and Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine. This movie feels like, for me, like a springboard to the next. An introduction if you will. Put alone, it makes no sense, but seen in the bigger picture, (together with the forecoming X-films) it will undoubtedly make an even bigger success, than it already is. See this movie! I command thee!
