NCIS: New Orleans (2014)
Embarrassing to watch
The original NCIS jumped the shark a few years ago, and the Los Angeles variant JTS when the writers got Kensi and shaggy together sexually. Instead of gracefully retiring the entire concept, someone who must have been owed a few favors dreamed up this latest bit of dumpster-fodder. When I heard that Scott Bakula was in the lead, I initially had some hope, since he did such a yeoman job on Quantum Leap. But unfortunately nobody has bothered coaching him (or any other cast regular) in how people talk, who live in NOLA. The "local color" references are spotty and contrived. And who in the world cast CCH Pounder, who looks like a bad caricature of Bill Cosby? The very least they could have done was to bring on Paulie Perrette as a consultant, seeing that she is a New Orleans native.
