Tulip (2021)
Beautiful
The attention to detail in animation, narration and music is huge and film doesn't miss a beat in its 9 mins. Genuinely lovely animation that reminds me of Bagpuss and the other Oliver Postgate animations.
Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins (2021)
Perfect wrap for the series
Nick Nevern had an idea and against every imaginable obstacle delivered this absolute gem. It won't be to everyone's taste, but that would just water it down for the target audience. Easy route would have been Porsche racing and strip clubs but the feel of the film is Southend on a winters day and the main characters messing up on a quick road to the bottom. Turbo takes it to a different level, Roland is at his best and Craig Fairbrass continues to shine as he has been these last two years (go watch Muscle of you haven't already).
This series is maligned in the press, but amongst some serious film fans they are beloved. The strength comes from the Producers faith in the film makers so each film has a unique feel.
