Nacho Libre (2006)
Very Sweet, Hilarious Film
This was a very sweet and funny film. I did not find it a bit offensive to the Latin culture. Jack Black's character was very endearing because of his love for the orphans. It is refreshing to see a film that is very funny without foul language and nudity. Humor without shock value. What a concept!!!! Kids can go see this and both them and their parents will love it. I can't wait for Hess's next film. Jack Black is at the top of his game here. Hess's previous work, Napoleon Dynamite, was funny in the same fashion. It is true humor when you can laugh when no words are being spoken. Hess has found his "real" talent; finding the best actors to fit the parts. Jack Black and Jon Heder were the best choices for the title characters in their respective films. Hess is on his way to the top.
Felix in Hollywood (1923)
My favorite Felix film by Otto Messmer
Felix in Hollywood is a great film. The version I viewed was very well restored, which is sometimes a problem with these silent era animated films. It has some of Hollywood's most famous stars making cameo animated appearances. A must for any silent film or animation enthusiast.
Woos Whoopee (1928)
One of Otto Messmer's more unusual Felix's films.
One of Otto Messmer's most unusual Felix cartoons. It portrays Felix as an inebriated feline being chased by all kinds of demons only to be welcomed by the greatest demon of all, the angry wife. Very original and the Slingshot Entertainment version of Felix Feline Follies has done a great job in preserving one of the greatest animated characters of all time.
The Sinking of the 'Lusitania' (1918)
Remarkable and memorable film
One of the best, if not the very best, animated film I have ever seen. It is not a typical animated film. It is a very impressive film on a very tragic event. Beware, it may not be for small children. I recommend this film for anyone interested in history or animation. Winsor McCay best effort. You must see this film.
