I really don't get the love this movie is receiving from so many viewers. It's so terribly dull. There might be something interesting in the chemistry between the main couple and some scenes are hotter than those we see in a usual movie of the week. But everything else just doesn' work and the movie doesn't trust its main plot, adding up some seriously uninteresting and unconvincing stuff. The constant intervention of the annoying score. The attempt to emulate "Fast and Furious"-like action. The absolute cheesiness of the mystery... Anyway, each own with their likes and dislikes, but I really felt deceived by some of the reviews. I think we might have seen different movies.

There are movies which are interesting. And there are those which are unique.
For a movie to be unique, it has to be bold, unfamiliar, many times even pitoresque and weird.
This one is all that and more.
A masterclass on aesthetics and cinematic language.
Of course many won't enjoy it. But doesn't it happen to all masterpieces?

A lot has been already said about this episode being The Best of Season 3 and I simply have to agree. It's hard to highlight a performance in a series which the greatest highlight is the acting and I didn't expect to be so moved by any other depiction after the wonderful John Lithgow left the series with Churchill's death. But I was wrong and my mistake is represented by two words: JOSH O'CONNOR!!! Eager to see how he develops his character. Astonishing!
A masterpiece!!!

Sometimes American movie-making reminds us why they are the biggest and most important entertainment industry in the world. This happens when we see movies such as "Assassination...", which is, ironically, the kind of movie that has become more and more rare to be made. Maybe because it's poetic, long, based on details rather than on blockbuster action. The acting (especially Affleck, who saves the family name)and the whole technical part (costume design, art direction, cinematography and score REALLY seem part of a coherent whole), all led by this practically unknown genius-to-be Andrew Dominik build a masterpiece that won't be loved by most people (and the foreign press seems to confirm this). But, hey, how many real masterpieces were loved by the time of their release?
