I just heard Walker was cancelled. Why did it take them so long?
Initially I was excited there was going to be a reboot. I love Walker, Texas Ranger with Chuck Norris in the eponymous role. I had my doubts about Jared Padalecki shouldering the weight of that roll and was also hesitant thinking CW could do a decent job with this remake, but I gave it a season. That was a waste of my time.
This show serves as an example of what happens when you emasculate men. Hollywood is used to making the men bumbling idiots and the strong, more intelligent female lead is the one that always "saves the day". Additionally, the CW is more interested in checking DEI boxes then putting out decent story lines and developing characters.
This show was an insult to the legendary Texas Rangers and on a macro level to all native Texans.
While the writing always sucked I'm convinced Padalecki cannot act. Norris' portrayal of the strong silent type that is slow to anger versus Padalecki's bumbling fool who is always jumping to wrong conclusions.
Having a flawed Protagonist makes for great storylines, storylines that should be filled with suspense and action with a dash of drama. Instead, the writers put out middle school drama club fan fiction with obligatory fight scenes.
No need for this show to ride off into the sunset just ride off.
