65 (2023)
Early release
First off, I love Jurassic Park. I grew up with it at my grandma's house. For that reason I love dinosaur movies in general because we don't get a lot of them. I saw "65" at an early release and I thought it was great. It wasn't everything I hope it would be but the acting was fantastic, special effects were top tier, and the story was good for a predictable sci-fi. Adam Driver does an incredible job and helps immensely with the sci-fi suspense. All in all, it'll be a movie that will be forgotten over the years but definitely deserves the appreciation and recognition now. Great pre-summer movie.
Creed III (2023)
No passion
This movie had so much potential! If there was an extra 30 min, it may have been different but there was so much they tried to plug into a 2.5 hour movie. I loved the idea of the story but it felt rushed after the 2nd half. I read that Sylvester Stallone quit because it was too dark so I was looking forward to a different side of Creed... a dark side.... It ended being the same old thing with less emotion. Sports movies are hard because to achieve greatness they require so much emotion. Think about your favorite sports movies and what made them great... you felt like the hero wouldn't win and it was over for them. I wanted that for Creed 3, but it fell short. From the montage (which was almost non-existent/barely noticeable) to the final fight, everything felt very puzzle piece.... But only if you're doing a 30 piece puzzle... Very disappointing, however, this is the only Creed movie that has been disappointing to this level. They are a top tier brand so I know they will learn from their mistakes and make a better movie next time around. If they don't, Creed will definitely fall and we'll be looking for a new boxing hero.
