7 donne e un mistero (2021)
Loved it!
Well, listen, for every movie you'll have half people hating it and half people absolutely adoring it. The issue with this particular movie is that the ending is more of a comical one, which made some people drop the rating from 9 to an unfair 5/6. All I can say is that the acting is extraordinary good, not once did I reach for my phone although the all acting was basically just in this one big living room, in good theatre style. Keep in mond that this is not an investigative movie whatsoever... It's more of a drama comedy, with a bit of absurd. Now, someone says that the English version is garbage, believe me it's not! I'm native Italian and I've watched it in 3 languages (Italian, French and English). It's really good in English 😋 Enjoy!
Locked In (2023)
Sorry this was bad
This movie could have been a good one, there definitely are some interesting ideas behind the plot, however the storyline is boring, and sometimes it's a mess. When I realized that I was probably wasting my time, I skipped through most of it sliding the preview, meaning I just watched most of it in miniature stills, loosing nothing whatsoever. I don't want to spoiler, but many things didn't make sense. Good acting overall for the actors involved, the two stars are for the cast and the sceneries (when shown). I want to mention one thing: although I am not big on soundtracks and I never comment on this aspect, in this movie the music sounded so off, that even I noticed. ...This movie made a boring Saturday afternoon even more boring, which wasn't easy.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Really loved it
I love light movies, good vibe movies, smart movies, good, mysterious plotted movies. I dislike sad movies, drama, empty comedies. This movie surprised me on a nice Sunday morning. Wasn't expecting much, but immediately stopped anything I was doing and took a sit. Didn't check my phone ONCE! The ghost acting was superb, not one word but every glance was so full of the exact meaning! I am also easily scared to death, so this was a really nice light"horror" with the shortest scary scene. Loved the story! Great actors but (sorry can't remember the actor name) the ghost character really got me, so sweet, suffering, also a gentle soul. The bad guy acted good too!
Into the Deep (2022)
Could have been better
The movie fell short. It's one of those movies that leaves you thinking "could have been... but wasn't".
The movie is about three people in a boat with a dead motor in the middle of the sea. Things start going wrong, and Jess doesn't know who to trust: her new boyfriend? Or the other girl?
One thing that I found disturbing was all the yelling and shouting. It was like watching a horror movie that was commissioned to a highschooler for summer project: everybody is yelling, and the actual acting part is super shallow. Now, I found Ella-Rae Smith acting actually spot on. I can't say the same for her colleagues; they didn't seem to believe in their characters themselves.
The movie would have been more enjoyable, and to be taken more seriously, with more psychological tension (and some good "scary" silence).
The other thing is the plot itself. I think that some more work could have been done to make it more interesting, because "I just want to know what you did" isn't that strong as a motive. Also, some moments weren't that plausible.
I enjoyed the movie on a lazy Saturday while cleaning the house. All the yelling helped boost my cleaning mood... I don't think it's the kind of movie I'd sit down to actually focus on intensively. Because then, I'd most likely notice more implausible things... Yeah, it's a movie that could have definitely been better.
Moonshot (2022)
For younger viewers
This movie is good, if you are a teenager or a younger viewer. It is a light-watch, the romance part is very safe for work (pretty much about the two leads arguing), the Mars aspect is cute, and Gary robots has quite the humour.
For anyone above 20yo, well... This movie is hardly about falling in love at all, and it isn't a true comedy either. I would suggest the movie to families looking for something to watch together, or to young romantic girls (not sure about boys...).
I truly feel here that this movie is reaching the wrong audience. As such, it's not the Godfather's viewers nor does it intend to be.
I enjoyed it, although I found myself checking my phone, more than a couple of times. And there was something in the plot, and something in the acting, that didn't convince me, almost like the movie was aimed to children.
Last, in a couple of scenes, Lana was angry, like super angry, and for a light rom-com styled movie it seemed a little out of place... They probably should have given her more humourous behaviours.
