Banshee: Always the Cowboy (2013)
Entertaining but ridiculous
Look there's no doubt this show is entertaining with the fight scenes, gratious violence and explicit sex scenes but some of the storyline is just plain ridiculous. So Mr Rabbit can just walk into a school with his posse and abduct a kid in broad daylight? Then there's a massive manhunt for him which includes the FBI and he just casually strolls into Carrie's house with no surveillance, then waltz into the police station without a worry into the world and for some ridiculous reason doesn't choose to shoot Hood (who also doesn't shoot him?). It then ends with a cliffhanger with him walking out and the sounds of guns being cocked.... I mean seriously that's just a small part of the holes in the plot but it's impossible to ignore and makes the story look incredibly ridiculous (like a lot of the storylines this season). However, it is entertaining and I'm still interested enough to see how this season ends. Not sure how people rave on about this being the best show ever though.
Top Boy: Birthday Party (2023)
This season is starting to feel extremely rushed
This last season is starting to feel like game of thrones, extremely rushed, wasted characters and forced storylines. How can you introduce the Irish gangsters only 2 episodes ago to now kill them off? And seriously, if they're that high up the ranks would they just show up to the nursing home by themselves (not to mention other family members?) without any added protection? And Sully/Dushane kill them uninjured, without any police issues lol? If there's no Irish retribution in the next episodes or cops looking into this murder with a clear accomplice at the nursing home, this storyline literally makes zero sense.
Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Underwhelming
Season 4 has probably been the best season of Stranger Things but unfortunately this finale was a big let down. This episode could've been a lot shorter but instead they dragged out so many scenes. Eddie's death was pointless and a waste but it seemed like the writers just wanted a way to kill him off. The rest of the cast seemingly survive the whole episode even though every scene they're near death. Reminscent of Game of Thrones the Long Night. Bringing Max from the dead was stupid and reinforced the idea that no matter how bad the villain is or how much danger the main characters are in, they'll always survive.
Animal Kingdom: Inside Man (2022)
Yawn
What happened to this show? Same old rehashed storylines - derran finds a new gay buddy and a forced storyline to go with it, craig continues to do daylight robberies with absolutely no consequences, skip to irrelevant flashback, skip back to present Jay is talking something financial and making the moves on another lawyer, skip to flashback, back to present pope is bashing someone and a cop pulls up another cody file. The end. Yawn.
Power: No One Can Stop Me (2019)
So bad
The worst episode of Power and probably anything that I've watched in a while. To say the writing was poor is to say the sun is hot.
Power: Scorched Earth (2019)
Shocking writing
Such a poorly written episode, no continuity whatsoever, characters making terrible decisions, the list goes on.
- No one seems to care that Tommy's main henchman was killed by Dre a few episodes ago
- Tasha was literally missing a earring at the scene when she killed Lakeisha, yet that seems to have not been picked up
- Dre somehow makes it out off a building surrounded by cops without getting caught and then makes it Saxe apartment to plant evidence.....
- Benny shows up to Tommy's apartment with a knife (lol) and gets killed right outside his door and that's the end of his story lol?
- Terry Silver's body just sitting in a car to be found? Unless there is more to this storyline, Ghost's lack of attention to detail just doesn't add up
Probably missed a bunch of things but TLDR; this season's writing has been all over the place, felt rushed and is bordering on ending like GOT which is a pity.
