Son: The Guest (2018)
Great!
I'm a man of a few words when it comes to reviews.
Great acting from the main cast
Great chemistry from the main cast
Great written characters
So many twists, so many interesting details and other plot points that were brilliantly written and executed.
I loved how they portrayed the Catholic Church as well when it comes to dealing with supernatural cases. Catholics do take the need of science and evidence very seriously, and I like how they took note of it.
Some of the english sub translations are a bit off, i remember one scene where Yoon is doing an exorcism and the sub had it as "Lord Michael". Any catholic would be rolling on the floor from that, and other protestants may think Catholics would call anyone other than God, Lord. The proper translation was "prince Micheal". There were more mistranslations from the dub that I can't remember but that is the only flaw i see here which isn't the series fault.
Deo geullori (2022)
Going on my netflix list for sure
Well written
Great characters
Great story
Great acting
Intriguing
This was a random select for me and i ended up binge watching it. I'm not finished yet, and just got started with the new episodes that came out on March.
I like how korean films have manage to incorporate anime like emotes, body language, and scene expressions in live action. It makes Korean films so unique and so brilliant in immersing you into the emotions and this series does so well in how each character and scene express the atmosphere of the circumstances and situations that are around them.
I am required to fill this all up but i have no other way to just say how great of a series this is to binge.
Doll House (2022)
SMALL step forward for filipino cinema
Unrealistic and nonsensical plot points in this movie and it just ends up as the same Filipino formula which is at the climax of the movie is 30min crying scenes.
It was predictable, unrealistic human expressions or reactions, very slow paced with absolutely nothing going on worth detailing or missing.
It made no sense for anybody to just allow a grown man that they just met a day before to babysit a little girl. It made no sense that he, being the father, couldn't go to court for being banned to see his daughter. There is a lot more I can include.
Filipino movies still remain as the bottom tier of Asia in general. They still want to keep things simple and stupid, no care for trying something new, no care for writing something different, no care of cinematography.
