Leo (2023)
Junk
I don't know why this infernal movie even exists. It is just pure pain to watch. The film is infested with product placement. It seems every other frame they are plugging some brand or another. When they aren't plugging some brand, the movie moves along at a snail's pace. They could cut 85% of it, and get the same story across. I don't need to care about some random kiddo's dead grandparent or whatever. What I need to know is what will happen. This film's plot is lacking. Calling it a "plot" is generous. There barely is one, and most of it can be summed up as the lizard guy helps some children. Nothing interesting happens for most of the film. It seems like this movie was simply a vessel to place advertisement in the minds of children. Don't waste your time. Watch something good.
Pinocchio (2022)
Ehh, it's okay...
The movie is unquestionably not exactly horrendous. It isn't a work of art, either. The movie is stunning, but all the CGI sucks. For the first couple 10 minutes of this motion picture, all I thought about was exactly this. It is uncanny. The movie also feels extremely slow. It just demoralizes, bores, and fatigues you all at the same time. Things happen, but nothing really changes. Pinocchio never gets punished for all his vices and flaws. The movie seems like it just goes off on semi useless distractions. Most of the characters are MIA for most of the film and only show up when it's useful. It's a Disney live action remake. What else is there to say?
Fearless (2020)
Uninspired and mediocre
Fe@rless_ falls flat. It seems like all the characters were copied and pasted from various archetypes, with minimal to no thought. The animation of this film is abominable, but not in a "my animation program's settings weren't very satisfactory" way. More like the visual technique, their modus operand-is simply subpar. This film seems to mix cartoonish visuals with photorealistic elements, particularly on human figures. Most of the character's hair looks okay, until they start walking or running and it just freezes like it's a part of a statue. Other than that, the visuals are okay, and can be charming at times. But the real cherry on top to this dumpster fire is the not exactly fantastic premise. The whole movie is based on these babies that come from a video game fall from the sky and the protagonists have to take care of (but in reality neglect) them. It is confusing because it really not explained very well whether the characters, were always in a video game, or were they always real, in some way. Some of the characters that came from the video game even make remarks that would imply that they know they are in a video game! On top of this, we see the babies falling in the video game. How would whoever made this game do it? Drones? Magic? I don't know, and it isn't well explained.
The film seems like a parody of modern 3d kids movies, the type of stuff Dreamworks or Sony makes. Trendy (and annoying) pop music, generic characters, corny overdone message, etc. Fe@rless_ isn't that bad. But you shouldn't use this movie as anything other than a quick diversion for the kids, while you do more important tasks.
